I have used K&N filters but I found the induktion roar to be too loud, so I am back to original setup.
As you already have Lotus cam covers why not source a Lotus air filter? It also looks better :D

Any advice on where I might source a Lotus air filter?

The engine does sound great without any filters!
But I'm not sure if it's best to fit air filters?

Martin Shirley, the JOC J-H technical advisor, was having Lotus-style airboxes remade, the last time I spoke to him. Failing that, LotusBits might be able to supply a used airbox.
