Tonight's (18/03/21) Car SOS Jensen Interceptor Restoration

Post by Fishyboy »

Hi all,
Interesting article on tonight's Car SOS TV program, where they are restoring a 1969 mkI Jensen Interceptor (National Geographic 9:00pm), appeared in this weeks Classic Car Weekly.

Unsurprisingly this may the the most expensive restoration undertaken. Fuzz Townsend says there was "rust in the front valance, flitches, front wings and arches, A-posts, sills, floor, inner and outer rear arches, rear quarters and valance, bonnet leading edge, roof and tailgate mounting points and the tailgate itself".

Sounds like a welding marathon.

Should be well worth a watch.

Enjoyed the episode, now know there is somebody local who knows how to do Interceptor bodywork locally, Fuzz is only down the road. :D Is this one listed on the MK1 site, couldn't find it yesterday, or am I getting senile in my mature years?

Always nice to see a Jensen on TV!

I wonder how long the work took them? I noticed that they didn't claim they only had 3 weeks to get it done like they have in some episodes!

I liked the look of the Lamborghini Espada they restored a couple of years ago.It was also finished in a period colour and I expect that cost a few quid to do too!

Not much has been said about the programme on here, whether it was a good watch or the car that was used as a comparison... Which I'm surprised about.

I didn't watch it as I don't have the History channel.

I have just had this weeks StatCounter results. The figure for the beginning of the week are the Norm. However, having mentioned it, and seen it mentioned on the numerous Jensen FaceBook pages I look at the 'Hits" are very different after the show. I think you could say the show generated a lot of interest.

It's on the National Geographic channel. I've seen the episode uploaded to Youtube and another site, but they've both been removed already!

The only comparison was the FF that Tim and Fuzz swanned around in. They lost their hearts to it.

Fuzz summed it up when he said,
"There's lots of metal in this car; lots of little panels. And they are all rusty"

Do get Nat Geo either ... if I pay the Disney channel I can get it, but that's not going to happen, as I don't have sky or freeview or pay for a TV license, I use the FireTV and use Apps
