Welcome to the JOC and forum.
I'm sure you'll receive plenty of good advice here and probably quite a few silly comments too

Hi Will
Welcome to the club.
Assuming you bought the car from Bonhams Dec 2020 auction you will already have this information from the sales brochure (https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/26549/lot/401/).

This might also be of interest - https://www.flickr.com/photos/128691640 ... ool-jensen (at Anglia Car Auctions in Aug 2019).

You can also find the MOT History here (https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/) - 1,236 miles since Aug 2006 and no Advisories or Fails!

Hopefully someone will have something more detailed.

I second what Grant said. Some good advice there! The car looks really smart in that picture! Looks like you got a discreet private plate as well

Thanks for the replies re my new purchase.

I will post more info soon.

I have a good amount of history with the car, including copies of original 'factory sheets'.

I very much look forward to being part of the Club, and, like us all, driving to some car meets soon!

Hi Wil

Just an added point

My car also has similar wing mirrors to yours - but not the wood console

I think you have a really nice car there Wil. I am pleased you joined the club too. When someone like the previous owner has had it for 30 years, they have learnt more about the car than any mechanic working on it, and any auctioneer writing an appraisal. The last owner has obviously told mechanics what not to do, basically kept it the way it should be avoiding major works that would spoil originality and functionality, over the years. It would be interesting to contact the previous owner, family etc, write up the details of your conversation, and add it to the car's history.

It is interesting that Bonhams gave the car such poor scores, especially for History, and interior, when the guy selling it has had it 30 years. The interior is gorgeous and clearly original, the dash is in amazing condition, do take care of that dash, and protect it from sun when you are out. Perhaps give the front seats some good leather food. I like Connolly hide food for starters. The car got relatively good scores for starting and driving which is telling. So you have one of the most iconic cars ever, a very nice set of GKN wheels, could be original to the car, it starts and drives nicely, a perfect dash, the white bonnet must look fantastic from inside, sat in those gorgeous seats, burbling down the road. If you bought a car to use on dry days you could be onto a real winner!

Thank you for your positive comments about the car.

It does seem to be very 'original' in many ways, and has obviously been cared for by it's previous long term owner.
Can I find out if the GKN s are original?

There is some work to be done, including work to clean and 'preserve' the interior and seats.(thanks for the advice about the dash)

I will no doubt need help and advice with all aspects of owning the car, and it is great to have such a warm welcome from the Club.

I have not owned an Interceptor before, but have a connection with the factory, having once owned a Sunbeam Tiger.
