usa registration/VIN

Post by smeylaerts »

Dear all,

I am looking to import a Jensen interceptor from the US, but need to do a lot of paperwork before it can be allowed in the Netherlands. The VIN is 1255038, and I need to show proof of where and to whom it was sold. Can somebody help with that.....

Thanks

Not understanding your question. Usually this information would be from the previous owner or whomever you bought the car from. All 50 states run their own Motor Vehicle Department so getting information will vary depending on the state it was registered in. Hope this helps a bit. :)

Bought by Qvale from Qvale through Qvale. Good luck working that out.

Why all the paperwork? If you have an original Title then that is all you need. Plus a Bill Of Sale, which is just a piece of paper made up consisting the names of the seller and purchaser, purchase date and signatures. In my experience the RDW is none too strict about the Seller, does not even has to be the same name as on the title.
A few months ago I imported a XJS from San Fransisco with just that. No problems at the RDW. Had the same experience a couple of times before.
The future ain’t what it used to be.
