I've had problems also. My JOC bookmark did not work anymore- possibly after I updated the OS. It does now. :?:

When I get the black screen, which happens ever so often, I quit the browser and it usually works when I reopen the browser.

Can anyone explain why the JOC forum is the only site that I have any problems with on the world wide web ?

I now find that if I run my fingers over the laptop keys, do a Scottish jig and recite the alphabet backwards, while the site is loading, it works after third of fourth try.

"The Rite of AshkEnte, quite simply, summons and binds Death. Students of the occult will be aware that it can be performed with a simple incantation, three small bits of wood and 4cc of mouse blood, but no wizard worth his pointy hat would dream of doing anything so unimpressive; they knew in their hearts that if a spell didn’t involve big yellow candles, lots of rare incense, circles drawn on the floor with eight different colours of chalk and a few cauldrons around the place then it simply wasn’t worth contemplating. What exactly in the issue you are having. I use Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari to test our site and unless you can tell me what is happening I can only assume the site is running fine. Please can you send me an email to it@joc.org.uk with possible screen shot of what issue you are experiencing.

I am logged in to the system almost 24/7 and I try to keep an eye on everything and can miss the smallest of matters.

I am always working to fix things and some matters take priority lime membership renewal and database entries. So please can you email me Mike with the problem you are experiencing so we can look into it.

Hi Raj, it's the same problem most of us have, I use firefox too, it's the only browser I do use, I always keep it updated too, but when you try to open the JOC forum it will not load, it just keeps scrolling a bluebar across the screen,Image the only way I can get it to work/load the forum is to clear all my Cache's everytime, it's been happening since the beginning of this thread :) it's not anything new RajImage ..it can very frustratingImage

Hi Raj,
Same problems as Grant above. This time it took me 8 tries before I could get in.
I am using Google chrome.
I feel that I should not have to change my browser to suit the website, rather the other way round. The website should cope with all browsers.

Took a photo to show what I am getting. I get a quick glimpse of the board menu and then black screen ad nauseum.
Keep refreshing until I eventually get in. This last time around 10 goes.
How about contacting the web provider ? Surely they have some form of responsability ?
Tell them you are going to change to another provider and you will soon get answers.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the image. As I said in my message I use all 3 web browser to test our site and I have not had any issue. However I am using a Mac and it looks like this image is from a windows computer. I'll try this out on my windows PC to see if I get the same issue.

I assure you I am on the developer case daily when I find any issue and having checked with him after I read your message as well as all the above we both have not found the same issue. I am not expecting anyone to change their browser for the club site or computers for that matter so please don't think that is what I am asking. I simple needed to know what the problem was. I'll continue to investigate this and provide a resolution or fix what ever is casing the issue.

Maybe if you have not done this already try to clear your cache each night (you can set this from your settings on you computer). The system (not the website) remembers a page and if it failed a few times it may just be going round in a loop before it connects.

You may find this useful to clear the cache on all browsers.
https://www.fvsu.edu/how-to-clear-your-browser-cache/

I will get back to everyone as soon as I can find the same problem and or a resolution for this.

Hi Raj, yes i will work if you clear your Cache..but if you do that you loose alot of stuff that you want and is remembered by your PC which I find a nuisance when you clear it all..I use windows 10 if that helps with the situ Raj

If a close the window with the forum and immediately try to revisit the forum I also get the black screen- I use Mac/Firefox. If I then reenter the forum via the JOC website it usually works

Edit: I just did that again and it took about three tries via the JOC website until I was able to reenter the forum

PS if I use the forum normally it works fine in the meantime

Is that black page essential, could not the site open directly to the page on which the board index is on, as the old site used to do ?
Just a suggestion ,
