There's an obvious solution then. Restore the forum to stand alone.

Then we can get our forum back (please!) and have speed, links that actually work and of course forum styles.

Just like it used to be.

It might be worth noting that Apple are currently doing their best to outlaw or thwarting Facebook from compiling data on Apple users. Firefox has been caught up in this as has a large number of Apps finding it difficult to work out how to keep running the apps on Apple - Avast is one of these and Cleaner will seldom work on mine either. Most of what Apple are doing is covered by the word Security. From what I can see Apple are now incorporating many "security" and anti-virus code lines so we Apple users do not need to rely on 3rd party apps.

The UNIX base of Apple over the years has kept us clear of predators until the last few years but holes are now being found and the rats have been getting into our apple cores.

With a new automatic Windows/Firefox/Google update the Firefox issue now seems to have been resolved finally.

If I try and access the forum through my normal shortcut tab, I get an error 403, access denied. Only way I can get on the forum is via the main JOC site. Any ideas here ?

I think there is a lot of server side processing going on now that we have frames round pages. I hope the club can afford this from the hosting service. It could be costing a small fortune.

I still have the problem if I paste a link into Firefox on a Mac.

Sorted mine. It was a clash between two browsers, Firefox and Google, now made Firefox the default one and now it seems to be ok. (fingers crossed.)

Problem is back, but not as extreme as before. The page opens for a split second and then goes black. Renewal of the page one or more (up to 15 times) usually restores the page. No big deal merely an inconvenience.

I am now having exactly the same problem, I have just had an update from Firefox and now when I try to access the forum I get the forum home page for a second and then a black page, albeit with a white bar and green traveller or whatever you call it, and if I had not read the post from Kees I wouldn't have known that I should keep trying but I did and got in on the 4th attempt.

I had that as well today for the first time with Chrome on Android. Ironically for me clicking on the notification that this thread had been updated. 2nd click worked. I also searched the forum for "headlining removal" and one result said content not found. I know this not found error is different, but has something been done in the last couple of days to make things slightly worse?

I'm now using Firefox Version 89.0 (64-Bit) - and all is fine again. Prior to that I had to use Chrome to avoid the "black screen".

I spent around half an hour trying to access the forum yesterday and in the end gave up. Tody had to refresh the page four times before I could get in. This never happens with any other forum, so what has gone wrong with the system ? By the way I have cleared my cache each time I try and access the forum.
