Grill/trunk badge/emblem

On early cars like int/541 I see they are red or yellow, can anyone tell me whats the difference are? I have yellow on the trunk on my 541, but it should be red? Are the difference on models, or years or???

PW = black
Early interceptor = blue
541 including deluxe = red
541 R = yellow
541 S and cv8s = back to red, I think.
