Hi All

Further to my 2 previous extensive lists i have found adverts or articles on the following additional Chassis Nos

123/3688
123/3889
138/8312
119/002i
119/126

If any current custodian would like these adverts and articles on any of the cars in my lists, i am happy to send the originals

You will be aware from my posts on Registration Numbers, i have also identified in any excess of 400 Registration numbers that i have not been able to attribute to a Chassis number
If any current car owners are able to confirm the Chassis number that these Registration Numbers relate to, again i am happy to send the originals

Any help from my current or past owners would be appreciated

Kind regards

Hi all

During my investigation into current and previous registration numbers on all Interceptors - circa 1966 to 1990, i have retained a number of original articles on other Jensen Models
These include details on the Esperado, Nova and G as well as early Jensens, 541's and CV8's
Does the club retain an archive depository where these can be accessed by all Jensen owners?

It would be a shame for these to be lost from current and future owners

Hi Colin

The intention is for it be available for the current and future custodians of our cars

As some of the Interceptors are more than 50 years old, there will be a chance that this is lost forever

In the spreadsheet format that it is in, i would be happy for it to be accessible by all members in the future, as all of the information collected has been available in the open place and therefore cannot be a breach of data protection

At the very least it has given me an insight into the cars, their history and the owners

The responses that i have received including private messages, has been very positive with contact from members in this country as well as the USA, Holland, Switzerland and Australia

Kind regards

Speak to John Lane, the club historian. He may have some of these and if not be interested in them. John's details will be in the magazine / or the web site.

We can add the electronic versions to the web site for people to download as well.

OK thank you
Just interested that all.

So can we expect an interesting artical in the magazine if there's a collection of interesting facts and owners ?

Colin

I have noted the requests for articles for the magazine recently, and was proposing to submit an article for consideration/inclusion

The power of a simple excel sheet is surprising

In respect of my own car, it had a different registration number originally, but when i put a "search" request into the spreadsheet, it identified the same registration number on an SP that was manufactured circa 7 months earlier
I am therefore of the opinion that the original owner of my car purchased an SP initially, but then bought my car some 7 months later - was the SP not reliable?

The search ability has allowed me to be able to link small pieces of information to specific cars

I would be very happy to scan and e-mail copies or forward on the original adverts and articles to current owners of these cars, in the hope that these will remain with the individual cars
If any current owners wishes to check what i have, please let me know and i will advise

In order to ensure that this information is not lost in the future, i also intend to take a colour copy and retain or pass on to the Jensen Archivist for the benefit of future Owners, Members or Guests that are interested

Hopefully if we can set up a fully accessible archive, this may generate further interest in our cars and also see our membership increase

Kind regards

Hi, Jim. Some trivia on 131/4592. The second owner was a dentist in UK and transported car to Australia 1976. I spoke with him some 30 years ago and he had a dental practice. He got quite emotional and he eventually sent me a nice letter with a picture taken with new wife and the SP on their wedding day. I have all the books including old log book which to me seems to show first owner (a company)perhaps onsold it to an employee (probably his company car) Please do not believe the widely accepted story that HRH Princess Ann was a previous owner :D Good Hunting Kenny38

Hi Kenny

Thank you for the further information on your car
And i was sure Princess Anne had a Scimitar GTE!!

If you come across any other informations on cars in Australia - always welcome
I have noted that a few cars have been re-mported back from Australia - sometimes via Europe

Kind regards

The one she still owns is a Middlesbridge Scimitar.

I wonder how the story about Anne and the Interceptor got spread, Kenny?

Hi Jim,

As ever, many thanks for all your amazing work on this.

Unfortunately, my car 136/8746 is not on your list, but you kindly sent me information on the car when I bought it back in February 2021.

Just to let you know, I have been in contact with the previous owner, who has supplied me with a bit more information on my Interceptor,

best regards,

Wil
