Forum time

Post by kees »

I have noticed for a long time that the time registered for the messages is way out of wack
I just posted a message at 17:53 (16:53 UK time) and it registered on the list as being placed at 2:53 pm.

Your time of posting shows correctly on my screen (actually one minute later but I suppose that's something to do with the time it took to actually press submit and for the message to appear).

John, your message shows to be submitted at 6:27pm on my screen.
Not at all important but I am just curious how that comes about.

Kees, at the top of the screen there is a link to the User Control Panel. When you open it, there is a tab for Board Preferences, and within this you can set your time zone. You then select Summer Time and this advances your click by an hour; in the winter you can turn this off again without changing your zone.

Success. "Problem" solved. I had always wondered how on earth most people send messages in the middle of the night!
