I have a note in my records that Chassis Nos 115/2903 and 115/2905 were both linked to Sir Matt Busby
This photograph is clearly of Chassis No 115/3052

Out of interest, a Wolesley 2200 in the back ground, very rare now.

Wolseley not Wolesley. Weren't Wolseley supposed to be the only car in the world to have its name badge light up? How can you tell it's a Wolseley from that angle and not an Austin or Morris? But, on an "F" plate it would have been the 18-85, they didn't bring in the 6 cylinder engine until much later and on the Wolseley it was named as the Wolseley Six, only the Austin and Morris carried the 2200 badge. The 18/85 name was first used before the war in 1938 and had an 18hp (RAC rating) and 85bhp engine and this version was also 85bhp. Out of interest the Austin 1800 came first in 1964, the Morris version 2 years later and the Wolseley version a year after that in March 1967 and they never badge engineered a Riley version.

Looks there is a chrome strip over the rear wing which only the Wolseley had.
The future ain’t what it used to be.

Horrible looking cars which even for the '60's/70's were very unreliable.

Actually Chris you are right, its a Wolseley ( spelt correctly, always struggle with the spelling!) 18/85, the 4 cylinder version, I didn't realise the 6 cylinder didn't appear until 1972, and then the W version of the landcrab was the "six". You can tell its a Wolseley by the rear lights, it the only version that used that style. The early 1800s had long thin horizontal lights, and the later ones had thin vertical lights that curved over the 45 degree angle of the wing. Still a very rare car these days.
The later wedge princesses were the last production Wolseleys, and they too carried the illuminated grille badge, but was dropped within 8 months of first being produced, together with the Morris and Austin badge, to be renamed the Princess of which 4 variants were available, with either 1800 or 2200 engines.

A friend had a met chocolate brown Princess 2200, looked great with a set of RoStyles and lowered a little, modern hotrod at the time.

M City bought an Interceptor for Joe Mercer shortly after Matt Busby had his, I know it was white with blue roof but I have not been able to trace it. Anyone?
