I would be happy for the current owners of any of these specific cars to take the adverts and articles to be retained with their own individual cars
Alternative current owners are welcome to message me and i will post out - no charge
I remain keen to ensure records are retained with individual cars - particularly as many are now circa 50 years old

Kind regards

I think I would prefer the Martin Robey approach and for Jim (or the JOC) to retain the originals and give out, or even sell if only to recover the costs, the photostats. Another idea would be to scan them. However, that requires a willing 'volunteer' to be found who would to be willing to Scan the documents for each car that Jim has found. Those scanned records could be hosted within the website for owners, or other interested parties to download.

Once the original information is dissipated it will never be recovered.

Jim, you are an absolute star and I second Rocky’s comments.

Personally, I don’t think you should be out of pocket for providing such hard copy material to members.

Jim,

I had not appreciated that you intended releasing original information and not copies.

Perhaps scanned copies and originals retained in the JOC Archive? I'll discuss with those in the know.

How many documents?

Hi Shaun

I currently have at least three lever arch files of original adverts and articles including some on 541's, CV8's, Healeys & GT's and the Nova, Esporado etc and Pre 541 era

My thoughts were that the original documents should go with the cars, although appreciate now that if these are subsequently lost, they may not be replaceable
I am sure that most would be saved by the current and new owners

A JOC archive would be good but i believe this should be easily and freely available to all

I welcome the Owners and Club thoughts on this

The DeTomaso Pantera Club (POCA) just came into a treasure-trove of documentation sold to the club (for a nominal, and reasonable sum) by a automotive writer with a long connection to the Marque.

The documents are on their way to one of the members of the club with a printing business, who graciously volunteered to scan the documents. They will be available to all members in the technical library, and as downloads.

Afterwards, I am not sure what the disposition of the originals will be.

Perhaps a similar arrangement can be coordinated here? Or perhaps an estimate on the cost to scan the documents can be provided, and the JOC could consider adding to their archives before the originals go their separate ways?

Rocky

EDIT: I would think reasonable conditions might be able to be negotiated in the sale, for example - to see if the documents could be hosted on this site…. But that’s just a guess on my part.

It could help drive more traffic to the site, and possibly help recruit more paying members.

Rocky

Thank you for your further comments

I was impressed with the Mark 1 Register and how this has been able to include latest photographs etc made available by current owners

I would be keen for the Adverts and Articles on all cars to be available to Current Owners, all Members or prospective members
This may well draw in new members to the Club

I am not sure what Archive exists at present
Certainly there appears to be nothing accessible through the current JOC Forum - and this is not being critical at all

I am not the best computer operator, but i may look at scanning the documents and then seeing if i can incorporate these into an accessible Chassis Data number format
I would not want to burden our own IT experts but would welcome any suggestions that they may have

Kind regards

Hi Martin

Thank you for your response and kind words
I was aware of your car but did not have it allocated to an Owner
I have notes on your car attending various shows back to 2017 but no earlier information

I also had you owning 123/3797 back in April 2017 - 19 PNK - but again no information prior to this on this car
Do you still own this car as well

If you were able to send me a message with the names of any previous owners on both cars, i will see if i can cross reference and find any earlier adverts and articles on either car

I note that 123/3797 was a white car - as is my own Series 3 car

Kind regards

It is some time since i posted some further Registration Numbers that i am trying to link to Chassis numbers or Owners
The numbers below appeared on cars during the late 1980's and 1990's

WWB 889 L

HWU 830 N
HBV 332 N
BVX 107 L
JOK 199 N
HCX 632 L
OOO 333
FX 6204

Any information would be greatly appreciated

During my process of trying to identify as many Interceptors as possible, i have come across old adverts and articles on a number of cars
I am proposing to issue a list of all the Chassis numbers that i have original information on and will be happy to send this to the current owners, so that this can be kept with the car, if you message me separately
Some of the articles and adverts go back 40 years

Thanks Steve

I am always pleased to link a Registration to a Chassis No

I have now found 271 out of a total of 582 registration numbers
Only 311 to go - so still welcome everyone's help

The trouble is that i keep adding to the list

Hi Jim,

I have after long last had a dig around the records for my car, currently TGF 139L and found that it has had these registrations from new:

EMR 694L
GG567
6 BMN
MAN 73J

Then finally and still TGF 139L

Clive
1973 Interceptor Mk III 136/8332 - Moss Green
1973 Jensen Healey Mk 1 11362 - Magenta - Owned by Lindsey
1972 Jensen Healey Mk 1 10343 - Sadly too far gone and so now a donor car
1973 Jensen Healey Mk 1 12504 - Sold for potential restoration / racer

Clive

Many thanks for your time and response

It seems that i was aware of all of these previous registration numbers on your car

I believe that GG 567 was former owner George Giddings
MAN 73 J was former owner Arthur Bird (JOC Mem No 2848)
EMR 694 L was i believe when in the ownership of Clive Everingham (JOC Mem No 8805)
Not sure who owned the car when registered 6 BMN but appears to be around the time of a George Evans ownership??

I have 6 owners prior to you and noted that you were considering selling your car a while ago
Glad to see that you still own it

Kind regards

Hi Neal

I saw your car at Maurice Warner's in 07.2017
Were you the owner then or was it Howard Davis of Cambridge?
I have not got a Mem No for you - if you can let me know keeps my records up to date?

Are you aware that your car was the subject of a Road Test Article in MotorSport in 02.1974
I can send you a copy if you would like it - message me with details

Kind regards

Hi Jim
Is your research concerned uniquely with uk registered cars ?
