Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi Jim,
I have 136/9128 (Mk3Int) first registered in Nottingham Dec 1973 and registered as 7HVO, then changed to RFW867M, 76JBP and finally YYY527M when I exported the car to Jersey in 2010. It Left the factor in Havana brown (currently blue) with tan interior and vinyl roof.
Best Regards
Dion

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Dion
Many thanks for your reply
I have checked my records and have no other information on these earlier registration numbers, except YYY 527 M but if i find anything else i will notify you
In respect of YYY 527 M i had your car being advertised for sale in JOC Magazine 199 06/07.2008 by Shobrook Auctions Ltd in Plymouth as a Bankruptcy Sale
My records advise that your car now carries the Registration No J 45189 and is fitted with 17" Wheels, Gold Coachlines and Driver / Passenger Door Mirrors
You will see, that from the 5 registration numbers that your car has now carried, that tracking down of individual cars and records is a challenge, but responses like yours help enormously
I have now amassed adverts and articles on 149 cars to date and this excludes any cars where articles have solely been in the JOC Magazine
If you required a copy of the advert from the JOC Magazine, i would be very happy to send this to you
May i take this opportunity to wish you a happy and healthy 2021 and hopefully we will be able to show our cars again this year
Kind regards

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi Mogsy
THank you for responding
In respect of 2240/1804, I do have some limited information at the moment
The car was Ex Factory in 11.1976 in Cheviot Brown with a Beige Interior RHD standard Coupe
The colour was changed in 1983 from Cheviot Brown to Brienz Blue or Surf Blue - references to both colours
Owned by an employee at CRopredy Bridge Garage from 1990 to 2015 and subject to some restoration and recommissioning
Owned by Nicolas Howgego (JOC Mem No 10004) in May 2018 and referred to as Surf Blue with a Beige Vinyl Roof and with Driver & Passenger Door Mirrors
Registration NO OVC 823 P has been on the car since 2018 but no details before this
Sold at Brightwells Auction on 24th June 2018 for £23,300 with 52,726 miles
For Sale on E-bay in Lymington in September 2018 with circa 53,000 miles
Reference to being fitted with a Walnut Console and Walnut Dash
I trust this is of some help
Are you able to confirm your name, JOC membership number, approx location and date of ownership to update my records?
If i find out any additional information i will post again
Kind regards

The responses have allowed me to identify a further 20 cars and has also allowed to send out information to current owners under my Adverts and Articles thread
However despite these responses, i still have a large number of Registration numbers that i am trying to link to specific cars
If any members are able to assist on the lists issued to date or on their own car - that would be greatly appreciated
I have decided to add some additional Registration Numbers that have come to light:

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Kees & Felix
Many thanks to both of you for your responses
Early English plates were often 4 numbers and 2 letters - but will certainly not now rule out that these may be a Dutch Plate
Felix
I have "55988" recorded on a 1972 Series 3 RHD car - White with Maroon interior and with 27,000 miles - for sale by Mrs L M Reeves in June 1991 with an 0400 starting telephone number in the JOC Magazine - would this be a Swiss number?
I have recently been messaging a multi Jensen car owner in Switzerland and am sending him details on one of his cars that date back 30 years
Kind regards
Jim Smith

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi Jim
+40 would be Rumania, Switzerland is +41 (0) xx xxx xx xx. Germany apparently has 0400 numbers, but the country code would be missing. Is there a picture of the car with the license plate?
Felix (Give the Swiss guy my regards!)

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Jim, the three reg.nrs. I suspected to be Dutch do not show up in the official RDW (DVLA)-files. This may mean they are not Dutch, are exported or their registration has expired and invalidated.

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi all
I thought that i would update you on the progress that i have made in my review of all of the Jensen Interceptors produced from circa 1966 to 1976/7
From the Richard Calver Chassis Data Book i have arrived at a total of 6,738 cars plus the S 4 cars produced after
The total number of cars still appears to be uncertain but i have arrived at this number
Of these cars, i have found historical information on a total of 1,608 cars to date although some of this information is very limited
Of these cars, i understand that 46 cars have been written off or scrapped
I am sure that this figure is much higher
I have information on a further 348 cars, but where the latest information is pre 2010
Of these cars, i have identified current/previous JOC Members on 71 of these cars
I have information on the balance of 1,214 cars where the latest information is post 2010
Of these cars, i have identified current/previous JOC Members on 326 of these cars
My list of Registration Numbers that i have not yet been able to attribute to a Chassis No has now grown to 480 (was over 500), but with the help of current owners/members to date, i have been able to identify more than 20 cars
My seperate thread on Adverts and Articles has now seen me amass historical information on almost 150 cars which i would be very happy to pass on to current custodian in order that this information may remain with the car in the future
Any current owners that would be happy to share details of their current car, would allow me to further update my spreadsheet
If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask
Kind regards
