Grant

Thank you for your response in respect of your cars

I was aware that you owned 123/4174 and 2340/1147 but this confirmation is helpful
Both of these cars appear to have retained their Registration throughout their lives - unless they were changed and then reallocated

I was aware that 916 UPU was owned by a "Grant" since circa 1991 but had not been able to link the Registration No to a Chassis No until now
The earliest information that i currently have on this car is 2011 when it had been in your ownership for almost 20 years and was in very good condition

Good luck with your progress on 2340/1147

Hopefully i can get other like minded owners to respond and the gaps will fill

Kind regards

Thank you for your response on Chassis No 128/4886 and for the advice on the former Registration No LKU 444 L which i have not come across yet
I have the original Registration No for this car as KTU 888 L
I have the car recorded as displayed at the Bicester Flywheel in July 2016

Interestingly the Rover Nightfire Red colour rings a bell and i will check to see if i have any information on this colour that may link it to this car

I will message you again if i find any additional information on your car

Kind regards

Sorry Jim,

I got that previous registration wrong. It was, as you say, KTU888L. I must be going senile, don't know where 444 came from!

Thank you for your response in respect of 125/5124
That has allowed me to allocate that Registration NO to the car

I have this car carrying the Registration No 64495 when in Idaho USA and belonging to a Lee Grover in 2017
I believe that he purchased the car in 2006
The car was Metallic Quartz with a Black Interior
Fitted with Front Spot Lights and a Drivers Door Mirror

That is all i have on this car at present

Kind regards

Hi Jim,

You can add 123/4240 as scrapped. Reg EKB 124K

A local SW member has decided the car is too far gone after
asking a local garage to start stripping it.

He has bought another Mk2 , photos and details to follow

Jim,

The car came with little history but I have seen reference to that reg number somewhere. Lee purchased it in 2004 and his estate sold it via a dealer to me after he sadly passed away in 2018.

The car was supposed to be quartz but was changed to crystal blue at the last minute before leaving the factory in Oct 70. It has remained blue since, although the drivers door mirror was removed by Lee (I have it in a box though and plan to refit) and I removed the after market spots.

Cheers

John

Many thanks for your response in respect of 123/4240 Reg No EKB 124 K and the photos
Sorry to see a car not survive
Hopefully many useful and valuable parts will be salvaged

I had a record of this car being sold in Brightwells Auction on 24.06.2009
Original Registration No FEA 757 K
Had been Stored since 2002
Appeared in Good Condition although requiring some restoration
Was Metallic Red with a Black Vinyl Roof and Blue Interior
Fitted with Mk 111 Colour Coded Wheels
Sold then for £2,100

Does the member have any other information on the car as this may allow me to find out further earlier history?

I hope that he has found a sounder car to progress and look forward to photos and details

Kind regards

Paul

Thank you for your reply in respect of PMF 927 L
This has allowed me to link this registration number to chassis number 136/8190

I note that your car was advertised on E-bay at the end of last year as requiring a total restoration but with only 2 previous owners
Have you taken up this challenge?
Having restored my car with enormous help in 2015/16 after it had been off the road for 35 years - it is a challenge!!

Records show that your car was Ex Factory on 02.02.73 finished in Oatmeal with a Beige Interior but not allocated a Registration No at that time
Factory fitted extras include a Voxson 8 Track, Sundym Glass, Air Conditioning and Town & Country horns

Hi Nigel

Thank you for your response on Chassis No 128/4950
I did not have this information on your car - so thank you
Neither WWB 684 L or EB 312 JJ are on my list of unidentified cars

I note that the original Registration no for your car was YNU 554 L
I also note that you have been a JOC member since 2014 - so assume that you have owned the car since about then

Do you have any earlier information on your car - previous owners or registration numbers that you are happy to share?
If i find any additional information on your car i will message you again

Kind regards
