Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi All
I have some further registration numbers that i am trying to link to individual Interceptor Chassis Numbers
My list of unallocated registration numbers had grown to 557 Registration numbers, but with further investigation and responses from Jensen Owner Club members both here and all over the World, i have been able to allocate 61 of these earlier registration numbers to specific chassis numbers
However i continue to unearth new numbers
If anyone can help with the following Registration Nos, or any that i have posted previously, it would be much appreciated
If the Registration Number relates to your car, i would be happy to share any history i have unearthed
STN 34 F 1968 Mk 1

Hi Jim,
I came across TMC 36M on EBay
Looking a little different from when it left Kelvin Way!

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi John
I suppose on the basis of your photo and the engine bay i should assume and will record that TMC 36 M is a non survivor
Originally on Chassis No 136/9154
WAs originally a special paint colour of Golden Olive
That represents the 2,100th Interceptor that i have recorded some current or historical information on
Thank you for your response
Kind regards

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
OMG!
Well it kind of survives, is still registered as a Jensen, although looks nothing like it originally did...
I wonder what the chassis number says...

Hi Jim,
I'm the owner of 2243/9656, which was for the New Zealand export market and sold new here.
Accordingly it hs never had a UK registration - so I assume of no interest to you, for your project?
Kind regards,
Simon.

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Simon
Many thanks for taking the time to respond
I am recording the history on all Jensen Interceptors and i had not yet recorded your car as still existing
I have now
I do have registration numbers for cars in the USA and Canada, Europe and Australia and am continually looking to link these cars to old adverts, photos etc
I missed an opportunity when i was visiting your lovely country for a holiday in 2016, in not looking up any cars - although i did see a number of classic cars particularly on South Island
I note that your car was originally Cerise with a Beige interior and fitted with a Phillips RN 712, Rear Seat Belts, a Wood Console and Gold Coachlines
I have recently been tracking a large number of cars in Australia
Kind regards

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Thanks, Jim.
The only changes from the specs you mention are that the Phillips radio ("wireless", in those days?) is long gone, plus I have not yet re-applied the coachlines after some repainting (in the original colour).
You can see pictures in the Interceptor Bronze Class of last year's virtual concourse here on the forum. You'll see it now has a personalised registration, which was done by a previous owner, and I do not have the original plates, sadly.
Simon.

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi Jim ,
Found REA 45L on social media.
It’s got the chassis number 4913 which makes it an SP.
It was originally registered NEA 7L.
Owner is checking that the number are stamped correctly in other areas.
Regards
John P

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi John
Thank you for the post on 131/4913
As you say, a series 111 SP 1972
Ex Factory in 10.72 with Registration No NEA 7 L but was a Factory Demonstrator and was first sold on 06.04.73 with 10,000+ miles
Originally Reef Blue with a Black Vinyl Roof and Beige interior
Factory Options included the Vinyl Roof, a Voxson Radio/Cart Player, Sundym Glass, Air Conditioning and Town & Country Horns
Interestingly i had previously noted a picture of the car at the Factory and on a Test Track on Flickr
Also this car was the subject of a Feature Article in JOC Magazine 186 03/04.2006
I also had it recorded as having a louvred bonnet
This was the last information that i had on the car
However in plugging in REA 45 L, i have identified that this car was for sale in Classic & Sportscar in 12.1991
Two Owners from new at this time but advertised as requiring a complete restoration on an 0564 telephone number but no price
Thank you for passing on this information
Kind regards
,

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers
Hi All
With the Covid 19 restrictions finally easing, i for one am looking forward to the NEC Classic Car Show
Subject to confirmation and agreement from the JOC, i am proposing to bring up the Adverts and Articles that i have on individual Interceptor Chassis numbers (circa 2 Files) and would propose to leave these on the JOC Stand over the weekend
These are currently filed in Chassis Order or Registration number order, where i do not have the Chassis number
I would be happy for the current owners of any of these specific cars to take the adverts and articles to be retained with their own individual cars
Alternative current owners are welcome to message me and i will post out - no charge
I remain keen to ensure records are retained with individual cars - particularly as many are now circa 50 years old
Kind regards

You are a credit to the Jensen Marque.
Thanks for doing all this good work. I know it’s quite a bit of effort, but fascinating as well.

Thank you for your kind words
What started as an interest in how many cars still survived and the journeys some of them had taken - including my own, every piece of information throws up a new story
I have been surprised how many overseas cars that i have traced, although extended history on cars is a little harder to find
Also the number of cars that have been re-imported or exported in their lives
Kind regards
