Hello again,

On going through your list again I recognised the reg. PUA 216L. The car is a white Mk3 and it belongs to friends down the road, they carried out a full restoration over a 5 year period and it is now up and running.

The chassis number is136-8562 and reg. is not original.

Hello Jim,

After looking at your second list I posted a reply but it appears to have disappeared into the 'ether'!!!

The reg. I know is PUA 216L and is on a Mk3, colour is white, chassis no. 136-8562. The car belongs to my friends 3 miles down the road and the reg. is not the original. They have fully restored it over 5 years and is now up and running. There is a second car which is an SP nearly ready for the road, and a second SP which is in the process of restoration.

Hope the information is useful.

regards

David

Hi Jim,
My J series Mk111 that I have owned since Autumn 2014 is PHD 785M (chassis number in signature) i have details of it’s original reg number somwhere. I don’t think that it has any significant history but you may say otherwise.

Good luck with your listing.
Stay well

Hello Jim,

Many thanks for your interesting reply. I knew Mitch had been active in the club, but I did not know that the car was so well known. Regarding the colour, I am not sure if the current colour is actually the original factory Reef Blue; it is certainly the same hue, but it is metallic/pearlescent and I'm not sure that was true of the factory colour. For the nerdy, I have a swatch of the colour listed as R-M Colormaster M4167A...

Regarding the car history, the log book shows it was purchased on 12th September 1975 from Guy Salmon in Thames Ditton, the first owner being a company: W J Taylor Ltd. of Epsom.

Hi
My car is an Interceptor 2 built in 1971.
Current registration number: SNB 992J
Chassis number: 123.4088
Engine number: J2143123G.
Both the chassis and engine numbers are original.
To the best of my knowledge the registration number has been changed, not sure why, but I am reasonably sure the original registration was XMB 84J.
The current colour is gold but it was originally Silver/Grey. The colour change happened during the 1970s (before 1980) and was extensive, as the underside of the bonnet are gold as are the chassis rails under the stainless steel embellishing sill covers.
I believe the car was originally supplied to Murray Vernon of Crewe who I think were an import export company, now defunct.
The car was supplied with A/C, radio tape and sundym glass as extras.
I have a copy of the car's birth certificate from Martin Robey.
Regards
Richard
