Re: Keeping Busy Whilst Self Isolating
It turns out that I am officially "extra vulnerable" according to the government and must shield for 12 weeks, so no leaving the house at all (I've got a smorgasbord of different ailments, which must have added up to the equivalent of one serious one). This means I can get stuck into the garage, which I've not really visited since I started being ill at the start of 2017. Occasionally the side door got opened and something got flung in, up to the point that I couldn't really enter. Managed to make a narrow walkway through the "stuff" today.

I have the opposite problem when it comes to keeping busy!
I spent 6 months last year building a bar & hot tub which is now
getting used every other day!
The ironic thing is it’s called ‘The Winchester Tavern’.
If you’ve seen ‘Shaun of the Dead’ it will make sense ...
Let’s have a nice cold pint and wait for this all to blow over!

Re copper pipe fuel lines, it looks like I have jumped the gun, as it is corroded by ethanol , which is a bugger as I will now have to find an alternative. Not all the hard work has been wasted, the tank and straps needed attention, and I will keep the fuel lines for now, just to see if the set up with the filter near the tank causes any issues. I will now look for an alternative to the copper, such as PTFE or stainless, both have pros & cons.

Jackie is actually 6 months older than the Jensen!
You two might be the first to be barred from the Winchester!
I’ll get ‘Terry’ to throw you out...

Re: Keeping Busy Whilst Self Isolating
Well it took 2 weeks to complete this little job because I kept doing other things as well. But I now have 2 completed blower motor housings for FF’s 133 & 182.
Although they wont be needed for quite a while yet its another piece packed away ready for when the cars have been painted.

Re: Keeping Busy Whilst Self Isolating
Good job Dave, they're a bugger to repair aren't they, but well worth it. It'll stop the hot air from the engine entering the cabin through what were the rust holes.

Yeah they were a real pain Kevin, the internals were gone in one off them to make it worse.Kevin Birch wrote:Good job Dave, they're a bugger to repair aren't they, but well worth it. It'll stop the hot air from the engine entering the cabin through what were the rust holes.
I reckon I could have put an engine back together in less time than I spent on this. Its the silly bits where all the time goes though.
