The last few days have seen the start of the infrastructure for the electric car going in. Quite an undertaking with the garage / driveway being 40 metres from the house and the electricity supply.
It also led to a good clear out of the garage and garden shed. And the very welcome find in the garage of this fine publication... Louise Redknapp in the number one position...
I'm sure I could be happily busy self isolating alongside her for a while
You need to get a qualified electrician to terminate those SWA cables correctly!!

Im sure you will have lots of jobs to sort out now you have a ramp, they just make life so easy.
If you havent already got one I would suggest a jacking beam as it really saves a lot of time getting the wheels off and is very sturdy.
Might also want to reposition the upper limit switch as it looks like you wont get a full lift with your ceiling height.

the jacking beam is not installed yet, hope to have the time next weekend. So now on the weekend I can work on my cars at home, actually I'm blocking 2 ramps in my company 20km away. Neighbours having seen us installing the ramp directly mentioned ...super - then we didn't have to go to your garage for maintenance..., so the jobs will be moreDPP wrote:Im sure you will have lots of jobs to sort out now you have a ramp, they just make life so easy.

Despite it's very narrow in this old barn (my house was built 1862) it will be great fun working over the weekend on the cars and enjoying a beer whilst without thinking ..oh, I have to drive later...
With the height I'm restricted, this ramp is not equipped with an upper limit switch, thinking about installing a photoelectric barrier combined with a horn, then I'm flexible.

Nice one, I would love a ramp but the roof is an issue with my garage. If you move your lights between the beams you will get a few more inches head height and don't forget a comfortable stool on wheels so you can sit down under the car and still move around

I also thought about taking the lamps aside, at the moment (if I put the Jensen in) I'll have around 1,70m. But this is only for private use, never having had the intention to exchange a gear box at home, that I'm able to do in my garage some 20 km away. This one dedicated to have a comfort level for working on the brakes, the skirts, doing exchange of liquids like oil, ATF etc...
Some pictures of the final stage, no I've to fix the ramp.
And my next project - my old race truck to provide mobile service for heritage car owners.

That moment when, after 12 weeks of lockdown boredom, you discover a roll of fluorescent pink tape and look out the window at your plain looking Mercedes:

You should try and get a picture of the Mercedes at night, I've seen something similar done on a different car.
