Interceptor Convertible Price Guide 2020 - Prac. Classics

Post by Pymmie »

The latest issue of Practical Classics has a 2020 price guide inc. the Interceptor Convertible.

Where did they get the prices and build figures from?

Editor is a Interceptor owner..

And after 30 years of books on the subject they still don't know how many were made.

100% Agree. Lazy journalism.

Could have always consulted the guru based in Oz!

I find a lot of journalism lazy quoting facts that can easily be checked. Not only are the prices way off (even if values have dropped a little) but they are now starting to mention “thirsty” again.
In the last few years when our cars became a bit more popular and values increased the motoring press seemed to stop mentioning fuel consumption.
Its a 70s car fitted with a V8 engine, anyone expecting amazing fuel consumption wants to buy a modern car.

Im sure if the club were asked to fact check articles before they were printed these errors could easily be corrected.

It not just the UK press that get things wrong, I picked up a classic car mag in New Zealand over Xmas and even they get their facts wrong...

Wow, for these prizes I'll buy a second one. German Classic data mentiones for CD2-CD3 around € 75,000 at an annual value increase of 7%, last year Bonhams auction one went for around BP 70,000.
Lowest number I've ever seen, normally they're publishing totally built between 450-600 - does somebody have the correct number?
I'll keep my one, a good investment added by fun :D

When you have a top condition model for sale at a high price, they can take several years to sell.

was on their homepage, at a first glance he is a little bit overprized, but putting him on a trade fair or on an auction with a reserve it may be sold not at once but mostly on short track.
I've not found an indication how long he's on the market.

I think because they have tried to make out it is an original RHD, but it has been converted from LHD to RHD, no mention of that in the advert I don't think, unless there is another reason why the windscreen wipers are on the wrong sideImage
