A Sad Day Today, One that did not make it
A Sad Day Today, One that did not make it
One of my customers knew that I was restoring a Jensen and was told of a land clearance. There were over 200+ cars to be cleared including 2 Jensens and a lot of spares. The owner says he is eager to sell but unfortunately his idea on prices is a dream. The cost is well above the viable restoration costs. I have added the vin number for those keeping records of the cars

There is a Mk2 in a shed. Owner says it runs and has an older documented restoration, wants 30K

I have been to that place,, the old guy had a roofing firm, the land is a complete shitehole and the yellow Jensen is bloody awefull and he does as you say want 30k for it the rest inc that knackered shell he said he wanted 10k I went with cash and a trailor and gave him a really good offer but wasted a long day of my life, his original derelict house is on that land,

You are correct, there is a derelict house on the property, land went behind several houses and around back, I took his word at 5 acres, There was a red e type convertible next to the Jensen and an MG in front. The Xpack and the remaining cars were in the shed next door. I may be old but I do know my cars and I am not blind. Pay another visit and you may get them because the site has to be cleared soon, I was told. I didn’t take any other pictures as they were of no interest to me but I can assure you they are there. As you say the Jensens are not in the 30K and not even in the 25K range that he said a dealer had offered him. He was obviously playing the raise the price game.
My customer who looked at the Xpack was told it was a genuine factory car but it had wrong wheels, wrong interior and wrong carbs so he walked away also. Nice friendly guy but he has prices that will not be reached
