Re: Update dash
White secondary dials? Not seen that before, also the circular idiot lights between the speedo/rev counter?

Looks like Triumph on their 2000/2500 MK2 and Stag, a great looking dial with all warning lights and indicators built inGregMVF4 wrote:White secondary dials? Not seen that before, also the circular idiot lights between the speedo/rev counter?

Re: Update dash
Looks very nice, however I prefer the traditional white on black SMITHS/JAEGER dials. The Triumph warning lights "gauge" is a great idea, very tidy. I have a few lying about to install in a wooden J-H dash that I hope to make and install in the future.

Re: Update dash
I always like the look of the S4 dash.
Is this actually a home-made version, or an actual S4 dash from somewhere?

Re: Update dash
I think Ron Clay aka Chassis Man was making a copy of the S4 dash years ago, although that was all I read somewhere once upon a time, on here I think,..was this one of those Colin?

Re: Update dash
Grant, there is a very interesting story behind the dash and the car, but because of certain legal reasons I'm not at liberty to say.Grant wrote:I think Ron Clay aka Chassis Man was making a copy of the S4 dash years ago, although that was all I read somewhere once upon a time, on here I think,..was this one of those Colin?
But it's an homemade dash, with the owners woodwork.

Re: Update dash
How much would you charge to fit a walnut dash? Is there a schematic diagram available so that I can see all the parts ?colin7673 wrote:Helping to put a MK111 together again.. plus putting an S4 Dash in.. What fun.

Re: Update dash
Looks great, Personal on the 'hardware' fitted, I love the original, but do also love the late mk111 walnut dash cars too- esp SWR 20R which I almost bought
Then OLW 76, my old gov did re- did the wood, wonderful job- that was yonks ago, but that car carried very serious baggage. (both lived close to me at time & I have pic's someplace, I phot everything!))
S4- well, that how they were, so perfect for me.
This post, yes the glove is different, but I prefer it, but I prefer it, the odd angle factory glove box seems odd, but is easier to make!
My car was ordered without walnut door cappings (shame!) as he said they were vulgar!
Each to his own- nice job, wood looks great.
Main thing is the owner is thrilled with it ofcourse, I bet he is!

Re: Update dash
Good to see you still have the original digital clock, I used to hate digital clocks and got Cropredy to replace the one in my SP rebuilt to S4 spec with a 'proper' clock as fitted to the walnut dash mark IIIs.
