Panels starting to go on & engine checked for fitment.

Will be interesting how the panel fit is from Robeys.

The roof will be interesting, no new ones have been available for a long time and that will be some serious clever work to make that.

As clever as this man is, and he is, I take my hat off to him, but, It is an awful lot of work to remake the chassis and to be honest the chassis is the only part that really doesn't rot, it is magnificent what he has made here, and obviously there are parts that he has made that do rot out, but alot of what he has made really doesn't suffer. so I guess it must be the challenge and project itself where his heart must be.

Did I read somewhere a while back that carbon fibre roofs are available?

I think you maybe thinking of Carbon Fibre Bonnets Richie.. I think JIA talked about one or made 1 a while backImage.

How is he going to rustproof all his hard work? I have seen pictures in one of the books of the complete body shell being submersed in some fluid at the factory.

If it was me once I had finished welding an area I would be in that box section with some Dynax S50.

There are places around that can 'dip' in tanks to protect his work..

What workmanship though

I thought I'd seen something about roof panels.
I'm guessing that the conclusion of JIA was that they weren't a good idea ...

I guess he could take the roof of the rusty old car in the background,if you look at what he has done so far
it would not be too difficult for such a craftsman,also i doubt he has not already planned for a roof.
As for the rust proofing you could hot dip galvanize but heat distortion and drainage would be a nightmare.
Hot zinc spray might be an option but a good paint will protect for 20 years or more, look at the underside of a 20 year old car
and you will see what i mean.
My Jensen-Healey is 40 odd years old and not all the underside is rusted.
Last point to do what he has done it is likely he has plotted the parts on CAD if so it would be quite cheap and easy to reproduce
all the bits, its putting them together that's the trick.
As a retired engineer i take my hat off to a master craftsman

If he has an English Wheel he will be able to make a roof panel from scratch.

And this is how Jensen dipped the cars.
