CV-8 in Warwick!...

Post by Oxymoron »

Hi,

I spotted a grey CV-8 in Tesco's petrol station in Warwick on Sunday afternoon.

It was parked by the tyre air pump on the forecourt.

We were heading to the supermarket and I wasn't in the Interceptor, so we didn't stop!

I know of a grey one which lives in nearby Kenilworth, so it could have been that one.

I've just spoken with the owner and it was indeed their car - JOC members Paul & David from Kenilworth have it, although I believe it's currently up for sale.

I have bought the car you are referring to .....

I live in Market Drayton, North Shropshire and new to Jensen having TVR and Panther cars before ...

I am interested to find any members who may live locally and talk about restoring the car and in particular finding where to locate spares and recommendations for companies that they have used or recommend that are specialists in sorting micro blisters and good re-spraying techniques.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards ....

Welcome Dave, I suggest you trawl through the C-V8 Technical Forum (https://www.joc.org.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) where you will find all kinds of useful information and technical advice about all manner of things related to the C-V8 ranging from very small issues to major body off restorations. Also, take a look at the JOC web page where you can find details of your local area reps, if there are any get togethers in the near future they should know. Finally, come along to the NEC Hall 1 in a couple of weeks where the club will have a stand and there will be many more members present for you to talk to.

Hi
I recently sold my Scimitar GTE and there's a guy in the owners club called Dave Speed, who specialises in painting fibreglass cars.

If I had kept my Scimitar, I was going to entrust him with the repaint!

He paints a lot of Scimitars, but specialises in any fibreglass bodied cars.

Micro blistering is a real pain on fibreglass cars!

Not very local to Shropshire, but our own Rob Ransley in Royston (north Hertfordshire) is a superb professional painter and long term CV8 owner. He has painted many Jensens including three of mine, but none of mine were fibreglass.

Around 1 hour 20 minutes away is Reemmachine in Ilkeston. Conveniently located in a neighbouring unit to Jensen specialists Appleyard Parts and Service.
They have done a good number of Jensens including my own Interceptor as well as 541 and I believe, C-V8 cars.

Not at home today David, but will do so by the weekend unless somebody posts it first. He is a JOC member.

Welcome to the World of Jensen David.

It’s good to see that you are already asking lots of questions of the Jensen forum. Yes I still have the C-V8, it’s a mk3 so there are a few differences but most of it is the same.

Your Flickr account is pretty special, unfortunately I don’t seem to be able to log in to mine at the moment. If you have any questions for me don’t hesitate to ask either on the C-V8 page (better range of answers from wiser people than myself) or via pm.

Jon.
