Re: Identify this object?
It IS a wheel cap but for Rostyle wheels. The later allow wheels used a different design.

Re: Identify this object?
This type is deep, in fact if you lay the wheel down flat you can damage the centres. Since I smashed my nice new wheel centre I have used the later rubber centre holders on my Rostyles, not original but works fine..Martin B wrote:Chris it’s too deep to be a wheel cap
Re: Identify this object?
Yes wheel centre for Mk1s. Haha. I thought this was a joke at first as in another thread I was asking for colour photos of in period wheel centre caps, blue green etc for FFs and SPs, talking about colour shifts. Obviously this one has gone dark red. There should be a large circular piece of wire which acts like a spring and pushes those 3 small clips outwars, so it is less likely to fall off. Just thought I would mention that in case you try and use it as is.

Here's one on my Car, but I couldn't resist running it up on the polisher seeing as it is Alloy

nice wheels Grant. is the rim the wheel itself or a trim ring?
Re: Identify this object?
What Chris said, especially the last bit. I used to have a full set, but they have a habit of silently diving into ditches when you are on the move.Chris_R wrote:Rostyle wheel centre. If you don't want it, let me know!

Re: Identify this object?
Yes, they should have that spring clip. If they don't they have a tendency to fall off into conveniently placed ditches!

Hi Richie.. sorry for the late reply , thank you for your kind words Richie.. yes they are trim rings I put on there to smarten it up a bit, I'd rather they were full chrome though but I can't bring myself to pay for chroming as it really never seems to last that well, the trim rings are stainless and as you know will last and shine for ever!! (the cheap-skate I am)Richie wrote:nice wheels Grant. is the rim the wheel itself or a trim ring?
