Changes to the JOC Committee following the AGM

Post by shaun »

Various changes to the JOC Committee were ratified at the recent Annual General Meeting.

John Lane had decided to step down from the role of General Secretary after many years keeping a steady hand on the tiller. Prior to the AGM, Chris Reed came forward and expressed his interest in the role and has been duly appointed to the position of General Secretary.

Additionally Helen Newby has stepped down from her dual roles of Jensen-Healey Registrar and Concours Secretary after several years. Many thanks to Helen for her efforts and we are pleased to announce that Rob Heydon has taken up the role of Jensen-Healey Registrar. Rob has had J-H's for many years and is a great source of practical knowledge second to none on the marque.

And we welcome Dave Pearce into the role of Concours Secretary. Dave being a former President's Cup winner knows his way around a marking sheet. Hopefully, we can build upon the past couple of years and increase the number of cars entering. The standard of those entering this year's Concours was excellent.

The remainder of the Committee were re-elected in accordance with Club Rules.

I wish Chris, Rob and Dave every success in their roles on the JOC Committee.

Which brings me to the announcement that the Club has a new Honorary President. In a motion from the floor at the AGM instigated by former Chairman Alan Smith, John Lane was proposed as Honorary President in recognition for his years of exemplary service to the JOC. The motion was carried by a sweeping majority from the floor. Congratulations John.

Full details will be in the September/October magazine.

Which leads in nicely to the role of Magazine Editor. Paul Strange still wishes to step down and has declared that the last edition of the magazine this year will also be his last. Come on someone out there, step up to the podium.

That's all for now.
