So 1835 is now at Rejen ...

Post by GregMVF4 »

... for the interior and some bits of the body that need more urgent attention (round two to come later). Whilst having the dash replaced, LED lights were suggested and agreed, as well as an amp and phone connectivity to add to the 8 track thats going in. Having found the correct (original colour) pale lambswool for the seat inserts eventually, I'm really looking forward to the results (new 6 piece dash with new eyeballs and clock, cant rails, all seats refurbed, rear centre console retrimmed) Hopefully ready end of July/early August.

Popped in to Rejen today and extremely pleased with work/progress - have now pretty much decided on entirely new interior. Though I could get away with the carpets and door cards, but the new stuff looks so good I’m not going to spoil the ship :0) pic shows new rear seat, retrimmed centre console and old seat in trim shop

Jörg,
so sorry to hear this. You need help with the differential at the rear axle? :D
Or do you complain about your stainless exhaust? :D
i guess Jason, Alison and the fantastic guys over there could help
They did a really great job with my interior, without touching the sound-system but installing a JBL-Amp with Bluetooth simultaneously with the new trim, supplied be myself :-) Now i do not need the 8Track any more but have all my music and radio by my mobile phone including NAV-driving-comments, just in case i do not want to listen to he sounds of my exhaust

This will probably come as a surprise - to no-one. Have decided that the whole interior will now be done: carpets, dash, door cards, b and c pillars, Centre console - the whole nine yards (in addition to what we had already decided/agreed on) It became increasingly obvious that every new piece agreed to would make what was left look poor (if only by comparison). When Rejen are done, the whole interior will be better than new. I think its going to look off the scale. Very happy :0)

Are you having any bodywork done?

In my experience the dust from having bodywork and paintwork done gets everywhere and can spoil a nice interior!

Actually that’s a good point. It needs a couple of bits and bobs done, but the only big thing is the (usual) tailgate frame base. Current plan is to just do the interior for now, and then the body later (probably over the winter).

So - long story short (and thank god for Rejen) the entire interior will now be done. The headliner will stay, but everything else will replaced - plus assorted bits of timeworn temedied.

Gosh chaps. Interior is now all done and ready to go back in - car is in body shop at the moment. Completely blown away by how good it looks - Rejen have done a fantastic job, I’m incredibly happy. Superb workmanship IMO. Before pictures for comparison

It’s getting there Dunc. Whole interior is new now - (even the glovebox has been retrimmed) - in the bodyshop at the moment. All the bits that needed doing (the tailgate, the various bits of pickling that needed doing), they’ve even made half a front valance for it - the near side was rotten and a big chunk broke off when I was underneath it - same for the arches. Hopefully it’ll look pretty good. It wont be concours, (outside at least - the inside will be), but that’s not what I was aiming for - or wanted. I’m looking after her :0)
