I have been offered this MK 3 Interceptor , in the photos the car does not have a louvered hood.

I assume it has a 383 engine, the car was made in January 1973.

Does anyone know by this plate number the engine size.

THANK YOU for all your help and comments.

Cheers Steven.

According to Ric Calver's bible, 140/8133 left the factory on 26 January 1973. Engine number 3C11146/140 which is a 440 cu in.Cerise body colour with beige trim.

Dear Sean,

Thanks for the information.

I always assumed that all 440 Interceptors came with a louvered hood standard.

Was this not the case ?

Anyway, I am off to bed LA time
!

Cheers Steven.

I don´t know which cars came with a louvered or half louvered bonnet, but the early Mk3 didn´t have it
Mine ist 72, a 440 engine and has a standard bonnet too.

Optional on RHD cars, standard on LHD US cars only from 1974. Non-louvred bonnet may be correct in this case. You can check on the bracket where the bonnet (hood) stay clips in and you might find part of the chassis number stamped in the metal.

Hi Norbert. Looking at your VIN number I see 133 prefix. That is a USA spec car. How did it wind up in Germany? :)

133 was also sold in Europe. From Richard Calver's chassis data book this car was sold to Switzerland.

There is a compendium of chassis data for all the cars ever produced by Jensen published by Richard Calver. All this information is contained in this book.
