Hi all - I'm the very happy new owner of an Interceptor, brings a little smile every time I remember
Robey tell me it left the factory with HHK 920N, which it still wears, it's number 2240-1037. They've been great with some original data.
It's getting painted and rebuilt this year (that's another whole debate in itself - what an amazing set of colours Jensen used over the years!).
For now, I'm just trying to find out what I can about its past - it seems to have been red at one stage, factory was Brienz Blue.
Is there anything I can learn from the vin?

Congratulations!
Looking forward to the photo's!!!
Love the early C-10's - a good stablemate too, as is a library for a Jensen. There's a Chassis Data book and others with an unparalleled record for the marque. Look up http://www.richardcalver.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - he know's stuff and has published what you might be looking for.
All the best
Matt

Re: 1974 Interceptor - new owner looking for info
@Matt, Thanks! Photo's will be provided ...and link to Richard is helpful.
@Alan, Thank you - nice to hear from a former owner! ...cool CV8, what a special car, I just read the history on the museum page. Michael mentioned the previous owner had taken a mk1 so that's nice to make the link. To be honest, I jumped in a little blind, it was only after the purchase I found out more about Michael, his background and the work they do. The whole UK/US connection is a draw for me and hope to make this as usable as possible. With your knowledge as an owner of many would you recommend anything in terms of brakes, cooling, ignition etc that makes them more usable without sacrificing much in terms of originality? Although I've had many classics this is my first Jensen!
The history file is on it's way, although I didn't realize it was a Robey file - so ordered one myself last week! Apparently, it was owned by a taxidermist at one point... do you know much about it's background?

Hi,
Do not assume it is already on its way (history file) MR often take an while to get round to copying the old files so you may be able to cancel it if you give them a call.

Re: 1974 Interceptor - new owner looking for info
jvcarrier, thanks - funny old world... after writing this morning it arrived in today's post!
They had warned me it might take a while so I wasn't expecting it, nice surprise tho' - and the best bit, despite being a late car it was a pretty good file, bunch of old docs, build info, early work receipts - wasn't expecting all that!
The best surprise was the supplying dealer was Grange Motors in Brentwood, Essex - couldn't believe my eyes, as I kid in the '80s I would go in there with my father and look at Jags and other nice things they had on offer! I lived about 5 minutes away - brilliant
