One name is familiar. His father is better known perhaps whose previous companies, Jensen Motor Group was dissolved 11 April 2017 and Jensen Motor Corporation has well over due accounts.

The Hethel address made me wonder if there was a tie-in with Lotus, but the Hethel Engineering Centre website suggests this is tenuous:

No. Although Group Lotus is a key partner, Hethel Engineering Centre is wholly owned by Norfolk County Council and sits within the Economic Development Unit trading as a stand-alone profit centre.

Theres a lot of Automotive companies around Hethel, sometimes just brands that are 'parked' and just development companies now
I believe AC Cars are at the engineering centre as well

Cutting-edge Norfolk automotive firm to create 12 new jobs

Pangean Engineering Limited opened for business on January 1 and has already secured contracts with a number of high profile automotive clients.

The industry locally has suffered a setback in recent weeks with news of job losses at Lotus Cars and the closure of Hingham-based Caterham Cars.

But with a dramatic increase in demand for engineering skills across Europe, highlighted by Jaguar Land Rover’s decision this week to create 1300 new jobs after announcing its newest model will be made in this country, the firm believes it can utilise home-grown talent and exploit a gap in the market.

Core team members have several decades of experience in the automotive engineering industry ranging including Lotus Cars, Caterham Technology, Jaguar Land Rover and Lotus Engineering. Paul Birch, managing director, said: “There is a pool of talent in the area that’s been built up, particularly around Lotus, that’s not being used, while the automotive industry in Europe is really stretched for staff.

“We have got this mismatch, in Norfolk that pool of talent isn’t really being accessed. That’s what we are trying to do with this new business.

“We are pleased to be able to create new engineering jobs in Norfolk, especially after the recent job losses,” he added. “This is the beginning from which we hope to build and grow a sustainable, prosperous future involving the highly talented engineers in the local area.”

He added: “We would like to acknowledge the encouragement and assistance from various South Norfolk and East Anglian agencies, without which these new jobs could not have been created.”

The firm’s specialist skills include electronics, control systems, electrical and powertrain technologies as well as high performance and low carbon solutions for automotive and associated industries.

“We are at the cutting edge of high technology cars,” Mr Birch said.

Simon Coward, managing director of Hethel Innovation, said: “We welcome Pangean Engineering as our latest tenants and will continue to support them.”
