Things Found in a Jensen

Post by Richie »

I've spent today giving the car a service and removing a lot of the interior trim, ready to dye it black while the wife watches Eastenders over the winter.
And from behind the trim fell this shilling...

Good luck Richie.

Impressed that you can do the recolour in half an hour....or is it a double episode?

I found this in my Jensen... It's a dead mummified RAT, complete with skull, teeth and tail. It was in the front off side air vent, guess it was nice and warm in there !

Are you sure it’s not a cat?

I will keep the shilling in the car for good luck, not so sure about the rat....

What else are you doing to the car Richie as you seem to have a hose or something going from a tube thingy to the engine bay

Richie
It's messy using the thinners yo strip the colour off mate
Wear clothes and have plenty of cloths to wipe it down with
Good luck it's a rewarding job and you should get a great result going from beige to black

Black goes so much better with orange as well

Keep us posted if you need any help just ring I've done a few but Stu's the main man he's an expert now he's done so many

He can't stop now though :D

Back to original post I'm sure people must have found a few surprises over the years

A lucky shilling ......nice one would keep it with car as suggested :D

I was doing an oil change - that's a siphon thingy to suck the old oil out through the dipstick tube. Nice n easy and clean... unlike stripping leather i suspect! :D I would prefer to have just taken the sump plug out, but didn't have a replacement washer. The slurped out oil has only done 1500 miles but that was 2 years ago.

Must drive more.

As for colour change... the interior was looking very tired and black is so much more forgiving and will match both the current tangerine colour better and, if and when she goes back to original metallic quartz, will go with that too.
