Re: GKN FFF 100, 0-100-0 mph
Chrysler has always been at the forefront of pushing boundries,
back in 68 they released the Plymouth barracuda and the dodge dart superstock cars essentially drag race cars off the showroom floor they shoehorned the hemi in to a very tight engine compartment had light weight front end, very thin door glass no mechs you pulled the glass up via a leather belt a 100 van seats battery in the trunk heater delete etc etc
and a sticker on the glove box stating that they were intended for supervised speed trials and sold with no warranty, nothing,
some of the top names in drag racing did magic with them, highley collectible now you might find one for 100k but most likely 200 plus,
and that's about what is stuffed in between the frame rails of this FFF 100 but I believe it might have been a 500 cube thought I read that somewhere ??????????????

Its interesting that FF 127/297 was fitted from new with the same Wolfrace wheels that the FFF100 had.. Is there some connection?

Keith Lee, author of the book on Dennis Priddle, responded on FB:
„When I saw the groups you were interested in, I somehow knew that you were going to post something related to this Felix.
Yes, it is true that Dennis drove this car, and set the quickest time, at the Mira test track.
It is not something which actually features in the book, as it was one of those incidental stories along the way.
For Dennis it was just a nice, albeit damp day out. There were three or four drivers on hand to have a go in the car, which was powered by a Keith Black 426 hemi, which Dennis remembers was stroked to 440 cubic inches. Graham Hill was the best known driver there, but maybe no surprise that the drag racer recorded the best times on the day!
He also commented that, despite being assured that he could stand on the brakes in the damp, and the FF system would keep dead straight, Dennis did a perfect piroutte!
In all it was a fun day, interrupted by an enjoyable picnic lunch.“
Pat Linda Neal also commented:
„Also driven at Prescott and stuffed in the bank by the owner of Ski yogurt who was a race driver,,Shell Sport Nat's day......much guffawing and po faced wheeling away......“

By coincidence saw this last week, with some evocative pictures (rear view better than the front one).

Its the Dolomite rear lights, love this car,
I do not think it did 0-100 in 6.2 seconds I would think maybe 8 dead

Why is that Duncan? No one said it was using regular pump gas or street tyres... The car does seem to be on slicks, and it is just the Hemi, chassis tubes, and a very light body, with a top driver.cannonball wrote:Its the Dolomite rear lights, love this car,

Getting to 6 is more about the off, take off that you would not see with a heavy car, 2WD, or 4WD with viscous diff, etc. You get real lock up.
That first second or so, the guy winding it up, then the traction advantage tails off as speed rises. I wonder how heavy the car was. Any idea what size those Wolfrace wheels are?
Let's do some sums... The stock 426 Hemi has more torque than the Mclaren F1, which already makes 6.2 secs. But this is an alloy block KB Hemi with dual quads and all the tricks of the day. Without the glass, interior, tailgate, tinwear, and an alloy KB Hemi manifolds etc, could we could save close to 500kg over a stock FF at 1700kg, say down to 1200 kg??? The car would have been stripped out for testing. Could that engine get over 630HP, and mega ftlbs of torque on special fuel? We already have slicks. Getting rid of the tailgate and bonnet on an FF will save mega mega kgs. We would then have more power, better tyres, more torque and 4WD, compared to a Mclaren F1 of about the same weight. We would be hard pushed to post a worse time. It would need to be heavier than an FF to make 8 seconds+.
The contentious thing here is weight. The specs online have the FFF100 as weighing more than an Interceptor, it looks like they based it on the FF.
