2 Jensens and a Rolls

Post by Kevin Birch »

Was asked a few months ago if I would use my car as the wedding car for the wedding of my good mate's daughter. I agreed, and then thought it would be nice to get a couple more for the bridesmaids etc.
A few phone phone calls later, Alan Jones agreed to take up my request, I had originally tried to get 2 more Jensens, but most of the locals to the event were busy. Alan therefore was put upon if he could use his Rolls Royce too, which he agreed, if Chris (his wife) would drive the FF. She too agreed, even though she had never driven it!! Wednesday was the first driving lesson for her and yesterday they both duly arrived at the hotel to perform their chauffering duties. Everything went smoothly for the wedding, the cars almost outstaged the bride, and were very popular with the guests. Alan and Chris's 1929 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 was almost as old as Molly the brides nan, who was 2 years older than it, but thoroughly enjoyed waving from the back as she was driven through Ironbridge. My eternal thanks to Alan and especially Chris, a fantastic couple, for helping make Tom and Naomi's wedding so special.

Well sorted Kev... :D

Very nice of Alan and Chris to supply the FF and rolls as well. Nice touch.

The Phantom looks great. Obviously head and shoulders above anything else on the road!

The FF looks stunning too with fogs and a nice compliment of badges on the grill, great colour that.

Hi Eddie,

did you notice on the last photo, the wheels on both Jensens are at the same angle, and rotation, just to make you happy.

Talking about wheels, does anyone know what the gold orb is by the Phantom's front wheel hovering around at 1 o'clock?

Hi John,

I was looking at that on the car, it is the valve. The disc trim has a circle cut into itabout 2 " in dia, and the gold bit is brass with the valve attached to it as part of the wheel. Not sure how these wheels and tyres are attached to each other, but I'm sure if you ask Alan Jones, he'll tell you.
