Classic-styled modern infotainment system

Post by Keith »

This is for classic Jaguars.

But I cannot see any reason why the system would not fit a Jensen.

£1200. Sounds expensive, but you would pay that for a mid-range system on your modern.

Something like this would fit:

or this one:

or maybe this company in the UK which does various nicely styled radios:

How about something like this?

The satnav would be useful and once switched off the screen folds out of the way.

Problem with these is updating the satnav system. If at all possible it is usually very expensive to download an update or purchase a DVD with updates. The screen is way out of your line of view down the road.
Anyway these things look horrible in a classic dashboard, a fully modern system would look better than these so-called classic look-a-likes which they are not.
You can have your classic radio converted to modern standards including blue tooth and the rest of it except the satnav.
The satnav´s stuck on the windscreen are much preferred as they are cheap, way easier to use, right in front of you so you do not have to take your eyes of the road, show petrol stations, AGM´s, hotels and restaurants etc., are very versatile and in general you get free updates from the system and maps during its lifetime (more or less as old systems cannot handle later updates so in practice this is 5-10 years).
