Before UJD went her amazing adventure the alarm horn needed replacing, wanting a replacement horn that was the same as already on the car, it wasn’t going to be delivered before she left... so a small job to be done when she can home again.
Monday was the return home day, because of work Wednesday was cleaning day which ment Thursday was replacing horn day, not a big job.... but as the horn was in the front wing the inner cover had to come off... Well, easy enough, but then when that is fixed and working you start looking at other things,,, tidy wiring up.. just cable ties, then out came the cloth and just give this a little clean and before you know it, the polish has come out and all the suspension and break caliper has been cleaned and you have to do the other side now... now all the front has been done.. I’ve now have to do the rear and the bits in the middle...
I did say I’m not going to be a nut polisher... but guess what...
Do I need to seek medical advise before it’s too late??

Depends. Is it raining where you live?

Don't forget to replace the horn...

Sounds to me like it's already too late, Colin.

Colin, on first read I thought, 'Yes, Colin has clearly gone bonkers... And he seemed such a nice fellow..'.Do I need to seek medical advise before it’s too late??
That said, the diaphragm on brake booster on my J-H recently needed replacing; a specialist job. No worries, off it comes, fixed by Perth Brake Specialists in Welshpool in a day. Comes back all nice and repainted - much better than the pitted and scungy thing I dropped off. Lovely.
But to get the brake booster out you need to firstly get the pedal box through the firewall. This was actually not too hard to do.
It did though uncover a few dirty old spots that need a bit of touching up. And the firewall bay could do with a bit of a wipe down and degrease. As could the whole lot I guess. And the underside of the bonnet. And a few of the blanking grommets look a bit tired.
And it would be a shame to put the nice shiny 'new' booster in there with it looking a bit tired. And …
So now I am repainting the entire engine bay. I spent the last two hours polishing stainless steel wiper blade arms.
How does this happen???
