I think the car design and concept was complete and they were looking for a name for marketing the car and sourced Jensen as the best price. They then used some Jensen design queues to finish the carjohnw wrote:Keith I wonder what would have happened if instead of investing in the SV8 development, Jensen in 1999 had taken the 541 chassis, almost as is, but with FF style double wishbone front suspension (they had it, it worked), kept the live rear axle (cheap reliable, robust, no development required) your Shelby 541 body in carbon or aluminium, and a big American V8. Was something like that ever on the table? That must have been the time you were drawing the Shelby 541?
