I would appreciate comments on having a ceramic coating applied to my Interceptor.
The person I am dealing with uses G Techniq-light serum with a 5 yr qtee
Is this a good or bad idea?
Has anyone had this done to their car and are you happy with the result?
What happens if you get a scratch, dents, or rust starts to appear?
The concept sounds good, but is it better suited to new cars not classic?
Regards
Terry

Re: Ceramic Coatings
Terry,
I have used this product on my modern car and it wonderful, highly recommend it... But when taking to my supper, who was Mark at Raceglaze. he said, not to use on a classic car unless you have had the car sprayed with modern paint.
Mark is a classic car nut as well and is a member of the Ferrari Owners Club and only sells to those that he know's has had modern paint.
I know someone else on here will say different, but I trust his judgement.

You might get more of a response if you post in General Discussion. This "Members only" area is not really the place for such a question.

Terry,
Very good video here, which may answer your question:

I'm also considering it for my latest day-to-day chariot, which is already a shiny, shiny thing. But I just want it to be easier to clean!

Re: Ceramic Coatings
This question needs to go to the manufacture company of the paint on your car and how to remove the coating in case of the need to remove the coating for paint repair. The paint company’s and not Joe Blow and his opinion. Go to the people who know chemically the repocussions if any. RacerJoe

Re: Ceramic Coatings
Some good comments and thanks to Stephen (VFK44) for moving the post.
The prev owner had the car repainted, but not sure how long ago.
I have the paint spec, so will try to contact manufacturer.
regards

Re: Ceramic Coatings
Latest ceramic wax. I have fallen into the hype. Probably because of my age and physical condition. I once used Blue Coral wax used exclusively at the oldest Cadillac Dealer in preparation of new cars befor delivery. Took forever to apply and finish off. Now everything for application and finish is based on time and effort. If what the company’s are saying about longevity of the product is true then I for one am a user. I am not a chemist but having used the product and having the latest paint product on my car I want the most protection possible. It is sort of a similar situation to Oil products. Traditional oil verses Synthetic. I have done my research on oils and have to go with those who know the most about the protection given the engine parts. My first hair cut was 15 cents. Now $18.00. A lot has changed in my lifetime so I possibly should change with time also. RacerJoe

A friand of mine just did his brand new Porsche GT3 with that and the result is stunning. He then asked for an appointment to do his other Porsche (964 from 25 years) and the guys denied as it only gives best results on a brand new paint. Unless the car has been resprayed recently using latest paint (i.e. water based paint) you should stay away
