WD stands for Water Disperal. Which is what this light weight oil was originally designed for

That's correct, and the original product (still available) was never really rated for its penetrating abilities.

But the product that Chris has shown is WD-40 Specialist Rust Release Penetrant which is specifically designed as a penetrating oil.

And can be used for a lot more, such as stains etc. There have been info on just how many things can be "fixed" by using WD40. Kenny38

Yes Kenny, but what I didn't know was there is so much more to WD40 now than the traditional product we're all familiar with.
There is a Water Resistant Silicone Lubricant, a Dry Lube, a Gel Lubricant as well as this Fast Release Penetrant. As they say "Protects against damaging friction; with WD-40 Specialist lubricants, you're ready for virtually any situation - including damp environments, and vertical or moving surfaces"
Expands the range of possible uses of WD40 in many new ways......

Hi, Chris. I suffer during the night with dry eyes (it will come to everyone) So i use WD40 as a spray. I hope it does not penetrate into the blank cavity behind my eyes. I also suffer with a little deafness so am trying it out in the ears too. Great for removing wax. kenny38 8)

I think the Gel Lubricant that Chris mentions is what you're after Kenny.

I find the use of WD40 original is great on my krinkle paint in the engine compartment. Been using it since I did.a 250 Lusso in the early 80’s. RacerJoe
