Jensen-Fords in South Africa?

Post by Philip Lochner »

A classic car collector in George has, what seems like, a prototype Jensen-Ford?

An E-type friend of mine has recently sent me some pictures of his father with what is believed to be a Jensen-Ford? (Please excuse the upside down pic. Several different applications opens the picture correct way up, tried to invert it but no luck. Weird. If you "right-click" and then select "View Picture", it shows correct on my PC.)

This picture is said (by this E-type friend of mine) to have been taken on top of the Hartebeespoort Dam (reservior) wall near Pretoria.

Imho this is not a Jensen Ford, just some modified Ford model, maybe a 'T'
The attached photo shows a Jensen Ford that was for sale in S. Africa about 1 year ago.

I agree the middle one is a T. But top and bottom are not unless modified beyond bodywork. The body looks the same in top and bottom except the surface treatment in the top picture looks like wickerwork! My guess is a ca 1925 Salmson possibly rebodied locally.
