Hauling sails for a boat, going to a mountain cottage a seven hour drive away etc. a GT has its limitations. So I have always missed one model in the Jensen catalogue: The shooting brake. Doodling over coffee yesterday I thoght "why not build one from a heavily rear ended or rusted out heap?".
It is doable from scratch but taking the rear hatch with surrounding gate from something more mundane will be less challenging. (The biggest challenge will possibly be to tweak the door frame for a flatter profile alongcthe top i. e. toward the roof. And all side glass will have to be custom made.)
An airbrush challenge for you Keith? Your renderings are really superb

Re: The missing model
I want to but after the 541 V8 is done. So minimum three years from now. That will be the ultimate test of metalworking skills. Using a shrinking/stretching machine is easy peasy. Beading machine less so. English wheel on a roof section not easy at all. And combining all three plus a few more to create the new panel from the door backwards not easy either. I fully appreciate why handbuilt cars tend to slightly asymmetric
But what a car it would be
