Snow day

Post by brendan »

Hi all
Been off work due to the snow the last two days. :D
And the wife and offspring number two have gone off with the girls for a few days.
Leaving me at home to take care of myself.
So I though I would take the time to watch my box set of Life On Mars.
In the second series fourth episode there is an mk11 in the dealers showroom.
I think it may have been mentioned on here before but can't find it in the search.
Just wondering if any one remembers it.
Then it's the follow up Ashes to Ashes.
Thanks Brendan

Hi Grant
You don't me? 8)
I'm OK with the spanners and electrical work.
I own an iPhone but must confess I don't really know how to use it.
In the program it's dark and the team plant a microphone in the calling tile.
And now I think about it it must be a mk111 as it had a J badge on the C pillar.
I have to say I have laughed and cringed in equal measure.
Not sure how it aired with some of the comments..

Hi Colin
That's the inspector Linley again in a showroom.
In the seen jean picks the lock on a sliding door.
Sams first though the door Jean then tells Chris to bent over so he can dislodge the ceiling tile to plant the microphone.
Raymond is with then and a police siren can be heard.
Chris says duck the police.
Then Sam stands up and says we are the police.
The view of the car is though the near side window past the passages window to them entering the showroom.
Then it pans back over the bonnet and the near side.
As it's dark you can't see lower than the swage line.
So the I can't even tell you the colour.

Just finishing off the last disc of series two.
Then I will look back.
The conversation I though was about the wife swopping salesman.
Will let you know in about an hour.

Hello Brendon
Dont worry mate I was only joking......

People often mistake Jensen's for scimiters or capri's :D

Hi all
Just watched it again and it's Sam that picks the lock on the sliding door.
Sam in first followed by Jean with a lump hammer complaining he only brakes door down.
They walk past a jag e type coupe.
Then you see Chris and Raymond pissing about making faces with there torches.
Sam tells them off.
Then the mic is placed above the tile.
The car is a mk11 as the side vents are not cast and the indicator is the the rear of the wing.
The heanrests are the taller mk11 ones with no cushions.
The wheel arch looks like it's got an after market chrome trim.
The wheels are mk111 alloys with white wall tyres.
And the bonnet is not lock into position.
It has two chrome door mirrors.
And this is now just a guess it's looks like silver roof over sage green.
Then all the cars are mixed around.
Then you see the salesmans wife walk in and you can see the off side headlamps in the jags door mirror.
Car now looks a lot darker.
Then the sales man has the door of the GT6 open that casino owner was driving earlier.
Now it looks like the car is silver over granite gray...
And it has pop up lock pulls to the rear of the door cards.

Not sure about an early car.
Can't see the vents or lights.
But did have the J badge on the C pillar that though me.

Great program can't beleave I had missed so many.
Music in the first was Better than the second and have all of them on my phone.

Now I'm on with Ashes to Ashes

Brendan .. you said it had pop-up locks on the ends of the door cards.. therefore that would make it an early Mk2 or even possibly a MK1... the badges on the "C" pilar could have added at anytime in its life  ... You're very argumentative BrendanImage... Now back on your toes and get some-more details please!!Image
