London Classic Car Show 2018
First photos from Excel
Tim Clark's S4 is here as well but I have struggled to take a decent photo, and some of these are a little blurred.

That's it, all over for another year.
Here we are 2 1/2 hours after the show closed and they are finally letting me out...
More photos tomorrow
John
p.s Non transferable number, the DVLA can be cruel sometimes.

Sorry I could not make it this year. Hope to go to the March NEC show instead. Any Club presence there?

Re: London Classic Car Show 2018
Here are some better photos
Nigel Kieser's Jensen GT, very fast (not standard0
Bernard Tominey's 541 Deluxe
John Seager's C-V8 Mk11, John helped us out at the last minute when David Klondar's C-V8 developed a gear box leak
My early Interceptor, officially not a turd, it is amazing how well it has cleaned up and it was a very popular exhibit (better than shiny Ferraris was a typical comment)
Tim Clark's Interceptor S4, also very popular
and some shots of the show
My favourite car, a 1907 Stanley Steamer, it sounded like a big Mamod traction engine (this is at the end of the show, that's a Lamborghini tractor leaving in the background).
Batmobile (it sounded quite ordinary as it left the show, definitely not jet propelled).
Miura (there was more than one)
More Bugattis than you could shake a stick at
And that's my lot, can't add any more

Re: London Classic Car Show 2018
There will be various club members there but unfortunately no-one came forward to organise a stand, so the club doesn't have one.VFK44 wrote:Sorry I could not make it this year. Hope to go to the March NEC show instead. Any Club presence there?

Re: London Classic Car Show 2018
Well, firstly thanks again to John for sorting & dealing with the usual B/S that resulted in, yup a killer stand- I disn't think it would be possible to top the prev years, but we did.
Not only a stand to top ALL clubs (people said, they were not JOC either, some were even high end trade...) but a stand that not only looked awesome, was both professional & importantly welcoming- no ropes, no barrier,- nobody offered just access, also welcomed to sit in & interact- we made some peoples day- this is what a club should be- the other were not- many visitors were to comment & praise our stand.
The grand parade/race track/drag strip- this was mega- personally, sunday morning was the best car thing I have ever seen, all this action 10 foot in front of the stand, we had the best position in the whole building, fantastic, best thing I ever did with a car ever!
I grabbed Alex Reily after he finished for the day, he was doing the track commentary for the show, and various bits with Q Wilson etc on the live stage- what a nice bloke, utterly gets & really likes the Jensen mnarque & ended up spending so much time with me & Shaun that he almost got locked out.
How refeshing to talk with a 'celeb' that is down to earth, really friendly & utterly knows their onions- top chap.
I did ask him to shame QW to stop by, he said to not hold our breath, I said he promised last year Alex said " & you trusted the word from a car dealer"! pukka, funny guy- he also wasnt invited to the after show party, but we all went anyway!
Durren from JIA- great chatting, he sort us out- well, & this is coming from a very anul originality freak- the 'S' is a thing of serious beauty- imagine the factory making a modern Interceptor, but better than anything & comparible with everything- here it is folks, I'd own in a heartbeat.
A very serious product indeed.
So I almost wet myself sunday morning as mentioned-
Nigel Mansell was going to do a talk about his life in cars on the live stage, but early sunday- he decided to get involved & utterly unplanned, took out the Eagle E type & thrashed it on the strip, I mean serious beans, doughnuts on the roundabout where we were, even waving, so driving one handed, all in a teeny space-
then took that back to the paddock- then & this was breathtaking, he decided to take his old F1 Lotus, blashed it out the paddock & did the same in that, imagine that- bear in mind all this is indoors in ltd space- spitting flame & putting a chill up the spine- epic!
It was so fast we could get a decent phot, esp as we were only 3 feet from this!
Well done us, very well done J.S.
Last but far from least, my very dear mate Aub came from California to support us- I have so looked forward to seeing my big bro, so to combine with the best show- well perfect.

The stand was magnificent and a credit to the club. Well done.
And thanks Nigel for letting me try the GT for size, even if it wasn't the result I wanted.
