Hello From A New Member
After a warm welcome from Darren via the post and email, I thought it was about time to introduce myself.
Based in Berkshire, I truly love cars and motorbikes, as well as pretty much anything with an engine/automotive/transportation.
I recently acquired a '74 Interceptor MkIII from my Dad, who has lost interest in having it restored, hence I've taken the plunge and bought it from him.
He bought it the day before black Wednesday and it hadn't been taxed since mid-1984, however since 1991 it's had intermittent chassis, body and engine restoration at various well known specialists.
In the last five years the body and inner panels were restored, but not fully prepared from a paint perspective, plus the interior needs recolonising/sheepskin replacing and new carpets to be fitted.
I also need to get the engine running and serviced, along with a brake refurbishment, a new exhaust system and sorting the electrics and air con.
Once she has an MOT I'll have her painted and then get the interior done, hopefully in time for next summer (aiming to be at the Silverstone Classic!).
Looking forward to becoming an active member of the club and attending upcoming events, even though my own Jensen is in the process of being brought back to life.

Re: Hello From A New Member
Thanks guys, will aim for a Novello visit in Jan and/or Feb as pretty close to me in Windsor.
I’ll get some photos sorted ASAP as I’ve not managed to get any decent shots yet, maybe we have one buried somewhere in a family album from the 90s!
Crazy, knowledgeable, helpful, way of life owners sound just about ideal as members and pretty much in line with my natural mindset, so I’m already hoping I’ll fit right in.....
I’ve currently got a mint Volvo 480ES and a couple of interesting bikes, however I’m expecting the Jensen to be on another level of attention grabbing status!

Thanks for the welcome Stu, do we have many classic Volvo owners in the club?!
I have an ‘84 Kawasaki GPZ900r (US spec Ninja) and a 2016 Triumph Thruxton R (mildly customised).
What do you ride Martin and do you have bike in the UK and Oz?
Great to know those resources are available Sheila, will be very useful!

Re: Hello From A New Member
Awesome photos thanks for posting, we clearly all have impeccable taste!
There are so many parallels I’m seeing across the club already....
So Volvos are clearly a common connection (my Dad had a 264GLE, 265GLE and C70, I’ve had a 345GL, a C70 and now a 480ES), my Dad had a red and white RD400 when I was a kid, my Grandad had a ‘66 and then a ‘76 VX4/90 and now I’ve got a Jensen.
Grant that Jensen of yours is pure inspiration for sure, where did you have those wheels made?
