American friends?

Post by brendan »

Hi all,

I’m after a bottle of Old Fitzgerald 12 Year for my son for a special present, it is not available in the UK but it is his favourite bourbon. Apparently it is only available in Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin. I’d appreciate any help on this to surprise him.

Thanks!

I think "Verfügbarkeit: z.Z. nicht verfügbar."

Means, Availability: Currently unavailable.
And I found the same problem with a few other German websites.
I did find a company in London, claiming to have two bottles at £1,900-00 (one-thousand-nine-hundred pounds) each.
(Living in London really is expensive!)

Wasn't such a secret.
They're also out of stock.
Product out of production.

A shop in Illinois is offering 2 bottles Old Fitzgerald on ebay:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/RARE-750ML-OLD- ... e#shpCntId" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://www.ebay.de/itm/RARE-1-75-LITER ... 2548.l4275" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Moreover this shop http://www.theliquorbarn.com/old-fitzge ... bon-750ml/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; allegedly carries different bottles of Old Fitzgerald and offers delivery. And this shop here http://www.bevmo.com/old-fitzgerald-100 ... 0-ml-.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (several locations across the US) offers also the bourbon, but only for click & collect (order online, pick-up in a store) or delivery in the US.

I hope this helpls, Brendan
Horst

I live in Kentucky and stopped by the local liquor store last night. They only stocked Old Fitzgerald 80 proof prime bourbon In a 750 ML bottle for 11.49 USD. By definition- bourbons must be aged a minimum of 5 years in a charred whit oak barrel in Kentucky.
They are trying to see if they can get a 12 year aged bottle from their supplier. I will let you know if they are successful. I was never a great fan of bourbon until I tried Jefferson Reserve Bourbon. IMHO, I believe the Jefferson reserve series are the smoothest Bourbons on the market. If anyone is ever in Kentucky, there is the Bourbon trail tour. You need a designated driver that can take you to all the bourbon distilleries for sampling and tours.

No Luck with the 12 year old "Old Fitzgerald". I have checked with 3 different liquor stores. The all have the standard 5 year old bottles. I will check when I go to Louisville in a few weeks.

Thanks Todd
I have run into a brick wall with the 12 year one.
Unless I am prepared to pay a fortune.
So I have decided I don’t love offspring number one that much. :-)
