Waxoyl

Post by Chris_R »

I thought Waxoyl was supposed to prevent rust. I've had a can in my garage for a few years and it started leaking over the shelf. When I turned the can upside down I discovered the bottom of the can had rusted out

I guess even the best rust protector can't protect one side of a sheet of metal by being in contact with the other side. It's probably safe to assume that once it's rusted through and the base is sitting in a pool of the stuff, it probably won't rust any more for a while...
