A very special gift
I was recently presented with a very special gift. A friend found and purchased and original Jensen Interceptor sales brochure off Ebay and then gave it to me as a gift.
I do not find a date anywhere in the brochure but judging by the wood centre console, this must have been for the Series 4? Brochure mentions a 383 engine....
This is what it looks like:

That's interesting.
The second photo shows the vinyl roof (or black paint) running down the C-pillar and straddling the vent.
When a Jensen looking like that appeared for sale about a year ago, I remember thinking that it couldn't possibly have left the factory like that.
But maybe it did.

That's the brochure for an early mark III, the wood console was on the American spec cars.
There may be a date on the back of the brochure (I'm sure I have one somewhere but not sure what I did with it).

Car looks RHD, so is it printed back-to-front?

Since the Interceptor badge on the grille is on the wrong side, it does appear that the picture was inverted. AFAIK, those side lights also appeared only on USA cars (ie LHD)...... and mine.AH1951 wrote:Car looks RHD, so is it printed back-to-front?

Re: A very special gift
Having had a look at mine, all I have is an agent address and where it was printed but no dates, which is a shame SorryPhilip Lochner wrote:I certainly don't find a date on mine. Inside the back cover of my copy of this brochure is a removable specification sheet that is dated September 1973, but the brochure was probably printed earlier than that. This would've allowed the brochure to remain current while just changing the single spec. sheet. I've had my copy since December 1973 after writing to the factory and they kindly posted me one, so I can definitely say it's no later than 1973.

Re: A very special gift
I would imagine that Jensen Historian Richard Calver may have more information but for me there are 2 clues in the brochure.
1st is the engine size - 383cu in. Jensen started fitting the 440 to RHD cars around April/May 1972 so the copy for this catalogue probably pre-dates this time.
2nd, the Jensen-Healey was unveiled in March 1972. I would be quite surprised if publicity material discussed "production of a smaller new Healey sportscar" before its release. Perhaps this brochure was published for the Geneva motor show in March 1972? I think these things were usually produced to coincide with some major motor show or other.
