Offside now tidied up and the nearside bad bits cut out.

Instead of reinforcing the tailgate hinge mounting points with U section metal have chosen to use thicker flat plate, don't know if this is common practice though?

After having the gearbox rebuilt have decided to cool the transmission fluid remotely instead of the standard approach of using the radiator.
I have not experienced any problems but as the radiator is now a few years older and oil and water don't particularly like each other thought now was a good time to keep them separate!
Nice little 6 row cooler boxed and installed under the radiator between the outriggers going forward off the crossmember.
Ironically I use Listers for the pipe and fittings which is just a stones throw from Kelvin Way.

Transmission oil cooler lines are now attached and radiator back in place.

Made up some cowling a while ago to channel air at the radiator and have now decided to mount the oil filter housing on it.In conjunction an engine oil cooler fits nicely behind one of the lower front air intakes.

My car lost its air con long ago so there is no refrigerant radiator in front ot the main radiator,I am hopeful the extra equipment will not be too disruptive to the radiator efficiency.

Sorry about the quality of the pics.

Engine oil filter and cooler now Plummed in and refurbished fuse/relay box ready to fit.

Changing over to modern blade type fuses and will dispense with the old 6ra relays for more updated easy change sort.

hi Tim,
good to see the old girl progressing and still looking forward to seeing it again one day. I may be wrong, but ideally the oil coolers should have the connections on the top, so any air in them will be automatically bled out. I know the oil is at high pressure in the engine, which may force the air out, but there is no escape if it doesn't. The gearbox pressure is much lower, and will trap the air at the top of the cooler, making it less efficient. Hopefully I am wrong, but have never seen them mounted with the connections at the bottom, I'm sure somebody here will either agree with me, or say I'm talking b*****x. Hope you don't have to re mount them, but better now than later. Is there a way to fit a bleed screw on the top, this may be a way around?
Would be nice to catch up with you at Dartmouth Park 18th May, even without the car.

Hello Kev,nice to hear from you.
Interesting point regarding any air becoming trapped in the cooler being mounted upside down. When the engine was done a high volume pump was fitted in anticipation of the extra pipe work to achieve what I've done, whether that is enough to overcome what you have pointed out I simply don't know.
Obviously now I am going to check it out and thanks for your input.
Re-mounting is no problem, will undo the exhaust u clamps holding it on the crossbar behind the front valance and swing it up through 180 degrees,
Cheers,Tim.

Spent a few hours connecting the wiring and making necessary alterations for the fuse/relay box.
All fits in comfortably, whether it all works nicely will have to be seen!!
