Air ducting and flitch welded into place.

Wing joints being prepared, the lead removed from the front panel was kept as a point of interest-check out the weight!!

It makes me wonder what the ratio in terms of weight would be on an average body between steel and lead.

There's a video Tim, I think it maybe "Jensen factory tour", search the forum or your tube to find it, you will see the man at the factory putting lead on the cars with a blow torch and a whats looks like a plasters trowel, an art at its best, plenty of lead in the Ole Girls
What does the plaque say on the door step sill Tim please?
Keep the good work up sport, its looking good Tim... well done

Tim , here is a link to one video but I did just watch it and there some lead filing going on in the video, but it wasnt the video I was thinking of, the video with the trowling of the lead is another one called the turn around man (at the jensen factory) but It was a borrowed copy I had and I am still trying to get another copy but to no avail at the moment :cry: ... sorry for misleading you there Tim :oops: , but this one is still a good Jensen Video to watch anyhow >>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3tPgf4SzNE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
With my kind regards to you Tim.... Grant :P

All the metalwork completed for now and back home.

wings have been left off to be able to get into all the "nooks and crannies" for a long overdue clean up and refurbishment.

Its bitter sweet at the moment, nice to be making progress but this will be my first summer off the road as the engine and box both have to be dealt with at this stage also.

Got a bit behind schedule owing to a knackered back a couple of months ago.

Firewall/bulkhead shot lasted then primed, sound proofing applied-heat resistant foil cloth yet to be applied.

Metalwork to be addressed on passenger side footwell area.

Chassis tubes and top/rear of crossmember shotblasted and finished.

Air ducting and footwell air box sound proofing applied.

Transmission arch and tunnel cover recovered with sound proofing and foil cloth.

Wings and doors now on so a few pics of progress so far.

Gearbox is back from the factory approved specialist after a refurb then thorough bench test. Its returned looking like new but wrapped in plastic so not worthy of a pic at present.

Both cylinder heads have been overhauled and the engine block with its internals is awaiting attention from the company that took care of the auto box.

A couple of more pieces of heat resistant material to apply now the metalwork is in place and will be able to begin throwing it all back together!!

I will put a few more photos on as things progress, nothing particularly interesting to look at just now.

Tim, nice to see it being put back together, will you be using it over the summer, would love to see it warts and all, out and about again.
I think Dartmouth park is rearing it's head again.

Kev,"in the lap of the gods" as to whether it will be roadworthy for the summer,no firm dates as to when the engine will be back with me to plan around.
If the jaunt to Dartmouth park rears its head me and Chris will attend that's for sure.
Keep soldiering on with yours-it's all a game of patience!!
