At that price it's almost worth restarting manufacture of them....

I'm contemplating increasing the start price on the 'JENSEN' 8 track flap on e-bay from 1 pence to 10 pence.

Ulric's got a Radiomobile 8-track on offer for only £1,275.

They were crap when new and they're still crap now.

Re: Voxson Sonar 8 track car radios production range

Post by brunovittorio »

As very recently, by sheer chance I have read here a lot of wrong, naif and what else...assessments on Voxson Sonar 8-track car sets...I made up my mind and registered to try and help people who should need...my expertise.
I am a retired graduate with a lot of passions and by the way, expert and lover of all Voxson Sonar 8-track car radios made from 1967 to 1976, with and without stereo FM.(3 base models)
I do service them since many years, sold them all over the world, the last 2 (1967 first model, the GN104/SR, then licensed to Radiomobile in UK) sent to a Ferrari swiss dealer for its typical use, ie Ferrari 365 GTB)
I will be happy to help, provided the persons who will get in touch with me are not ...100% ignorant of the 8-track car sets.....including Pioneer and Blaupunkt (I do sell/service them too....for people who don't have thoroughbred vintage italian cars ...concours ready!).
I live in Italy, in my profile there is the email address too.
I do speak french, english and spanish.
Thanks

What a pity we did not know each other...before!
Good luck with your newly purchased Voxson GN 108 FM (1972)....again it's a pity because I could have sold you...the stereo version! (Voxson Sonar GN108 FMS...slightly different dial!)
I have 2 or 3 in the garage...waiting for the spring for a check.
I know the seller...of course.
All the best.

I think the Voxson 8 track is the best car sound system ever. Mine works great, with a fantastic tonal range from all the 4 speakers. Its like sitting in an extremely comfortable room with perfect acoustics for a warm fully sonic cinematic experience. A vital part of the Interceptor/FF experience. Its a shame a lot of these fantastic radios were taken out and replaced with more modern units, especially as the old ones can be adapted to play in any format.

I have a few Radiomobiles in various states of repair and a few Jensen flaps in silver or black if anyone is wanting

The Lear Jet is good in a plane, but this is better for my car. Why? Because it says "Jensen" across the front

In my opinion the early Voxson is the most stylish - and if originally fitted to your MK1 or FF, well worth finding an example before all the nice ones get snapped up by other enthusiasts. Same goes for the Learjet, which wins the prize for being the heaviest.

It looks like my radiomobile version with the black Jensen flap was a bargain at £150, fully working and with an MP3 input. Sounds really good and looks the part too. :)

Sorry but:
- the Jensen writing means nothing...everybody may do it with a graphical editing program.....it only takes to rub the black
original paint of the aluminium (not stainless steel!) flap.....
- that example is not 100% original, the left 3rd (innermost) knob ...belongs to the 2nd Voxson (or Radiomobile, later available
version....) Sonar GN108/SR only!
- when the JENSEN/VOXSON agreement was made....the original model was Voxson Sonar GN104/SR. There's plenty of snaps in the web!

My compliments...at last a connoisseur....!
As I still service all models...I would need unpitted chrome front plates and generally speaking anything of the GN104, I have available spares for you if needed!
Thanks
