Then that's just asking for trouble in such a powerful car.

According to their website the Supercharged version does have Traction Control, so perhaps someone had decided to turn it off?

I had missed that.
Anyway, shouldn't speculate, we'll probably get to know the cause.

Still with less work than mine, even in it's current state. No airbags?

Could this be related to Clarkson, Hammond and May filming "The Interceptors" with JIA cars this week?

I'd have thought if it was, something would have got out into the press by now. Will be interesting to see what comes of their meeting with ITV though.

Indeed, and looking at the photos it looks like both doors would still open. The massive strength of the Interceptor chassis/tub has saved many lives over the years, so there lies the question: is it better to have crumple zones or a massively strong car?
Depends what speed he was going, the assumption here is that it was going fast. Crumple zones all day long. Cars without don't disparate the energy. Having been in a serious crash 18 months ago I was fortunate to walk away without a scratch, I would shudder to think what would have happened to me and other if I was in the Interceptor!

You don't buckle a wheel like that in a minor collision.
Very rare to buckle a wheel at all.

All those lovely modifications wrecked, and yet the dreadful mirror survives.
