Name that car

About a month ago my Mum's immaculate Holden TD Gemini was rear ended at set of traffic lights. The back of the car was pushed all the way to the rear window. After 45 years the car didn't have a mark on it and yet someone failed to notice that the traffic lights had turned red and there was a car stopped at the lights. So infuriating. Fortunately my Mum wasn't too hurt.

Aussies will know. I remember seeing it at the Sydney Motor Show, many years ago!

Re: Name that car
I remember this from when it was first shown. I was looking at GM Corvette prototypes until Keith hinted I was looking in the wrong continent. Now, I even remember the full name.

Yes, I had a car book with a photo of this in it when I was a kid. And my friend's parents had the standard production car. It was baffling as a child how they could be related.

I recall seeing it in Echuca, although it was silver at the time.

Re: Name that car
I wonder where Holden might be had this gone ahead? I rather liked it.

Re: Name that car
I'm guessing it's about 1947, and that blue tarp is hiding a distinctive styling feature...
