Or maybe very bad brakes?

Re: Name that car
My car (Skoda Superb) has adaptive cruise control, which means that if the car in front brakes, so will my car - if necessary, right down to a stop. A small green light on the dash informs me if it is active. A dab on the brakes will switch it off, so I try to let it do its thing. Seeing the car in front get closer and closer, while trusting the electronics to do their thing, can be quite tough on the nerves until you get used to it and I'm sure I have made more grooves than usual on the steering wheel rim!
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

Re: Name that car
Irritatingly, when I tapped my phone screen to enlarge the picture, it ran Google Lens on it instead, which identified the car!
Obscure hardly covers it, so good luck to you non-cheaters out there...

Re: Name that car
By the way, Lens is a powerful tool to identify cars.
I wanted to know the name of a scooter used in "The Darling Buds of May" on TV. The scooter filled maybe an eighth of the screen, and I snapped a pic on my mobile from the couch. Despite the fact that the picture had not existed until that minute, and that an actress was sitting on the bike and hiding the lines, it took only about 3 seconds to analyse it and tell me it was a Triumph Tigress. Impressive, considering that most scooters look roughly the same. The old Google reverse lookup would not have been able to do this.

The vehicle in the photo is a Nyberg, it was manufactured in Chattanooga Tennessee. It was only produced from 1911 until 1914. I saw this car when it was in a lot worse condition. It is owned by Corky Coker and I have been out in several of his vehicles as North Hants tyres have been the UK distributor for Coker Tire for over 45 years.

Corky has retired from the Tyre business but has a very nice Car Museum in Chattanooga which is well worth a visit, just enter Coker Museum to see some of the collection

Re: Name that car
Good answer, but no, it isn't a Nyberg.

Google Lens has ruined this thread.

Re: Name that car
Wow. Is that actually on the road? It looks more like from a movie set.
I quite like it though.
